Catalytic cracking of alkanes on MCM-22 zeolite. Comparison with ZSM-5 and beta zeolite and its possibility as an FCC cracking additive
1995
Abstract N-heptane cracking has been carried out on MCM-22, and its kinetic and decay behaviour is compared with that of ZSM-5 and Beta zeolites. In the case of MCM-22 cracking occurs in the 10-member ring channel system, as well as in the large cavities formed by 12-member rings. Product selectivities show that MCM-22, while presenting features which indicate structural similarities with ZSM-5, it also presents characteristics corresponding to pores or cavities larger than ZSM-5. The selectivities to the individual products together with C1 + C2/iC4, C3/C4, C5/C2, iC4/total C4, and alkane/alkene ratios indicate that MCM-22 has good properties to be used as an FCC octane booster additive sp…
Formation of products responsible for motor and research octane of gasolines produced by cracking The implication of framework Si/Al ratio and operat…
1989
Abstract An alkane in the range of gasoline fraction ( n -heptane) has been used as a reactant to study the influence of zeolite Y catalyst and process variables (i.e., framework Si Al ratio and procedure of dealumination, time on stream, and contact time) on the formation of products responsible for motor and research octane of gasoline during cracking, namely branched, aromatics, and olefins. It is found that the branched isomers in the C 5 and C 6 fractions appear as primary products and are partly produced by disproportionation, since the ratio of iso to normal compounds is above equilibrium. The ratio of branched to linear products strongly decreases when the number of carbon atoms of …
Improving the local vertex invariants in alkane graphs through a standard molecular orbital approach
2007
Abstract In this work, novel topological indices are introduced by the application of algorithms based on molecular orbital theory. Actually, the novel indices are obtained by computing new values of the local vertex invariants (LOVIs) in alkane graphs. The most significant result is the dramatic increase in the predictive capability achieved with the topological charge indices weighted according the new LOVIs’ values in the prediction of four key properties in the set of octane isomers, namely heat of atomization, molar refraction, heat of vaporization and boiling point.
Pentacyanopropenide group as ligand in organometallic chemistry. Crystal structure and electrochemical studies of (Et4N)[W(CO)5{(C(CN)2C(CN)C(CN)2}]
1999
Abstract The title complex has been obtained by reaction of the tetraethylammonium pentacyanopropenide with tungsten hexacarbonyl in acetone. Its crystal structure involves discrete [W(CO)5{C3(CN)5}]− anions in which the organic fragment is N-coordinated via one of the nitrogen atoms of a cyano group borne by one of the terminal carbon atoms of the allylic skeleton. The anion presents a distorted octahedral coordination with a W–N bond length [2.168(5) A] considerably longer than the W–C bond lengths [cis-W–C in the range 1.998(7)–2.068(4) A; trans-W–C 1.962(7) A]. Cyclic voltammograms of this complex, recorded in CH2Cl2 and CH3CN (Bu4NPF6 0.1 M), display a quasi-reversible reduction and ir…
A rietveld study of the cation substitution between uvarovite and yttrium-aluminum synthetic garnets, obtained by sol-gel method
1994
A series of synthetic garnets solid solutions with compositions between Y 3 Al 2 Al 3 O 12 (Y-Al garnet) (YAG) and Ca 3 Cr 2 Si 3 O 12 (uvarovite) was synthesized using the sol-gel method. The expected general formula is (Ca x Y 1-x ) 3 (Cr x Al 1-x ) 2 (Si x Al 1-x ) 3 O 12 where x=0 to x=1. The cation distribution in dodecahedral, octahedral and tetrahedral sites and bond distances in these synthetic garnets were determined using the Rietveld method. It shows the incomplete substitution in small sites. The smaller site the smaller substitution there is

Long term outcomes of fissurectomy and anoplasty for chronic anterior anal fissure without hypertonia: low recurrences and continence conservation
2021
Aetiopathogenesis of Chronic Anal Anterior Fissure (CAAF) remains poorly understood. Some anatomical, clinical and functional features suggest that pathophysiology may be linked to a reduced anal canal pressure. LIS appear illogical as a treatment for CAAF and the employ of techniques aiming to save the integrity of the sphincterial system appears more sensible. The aim of this study was to evaluate 5 years results of fissurectomy and anoplasty with cutaneous V-Y advancement flap in patients affected by CAAF without IAS hypertonia. We enrolled 20 women, affected by idiopathic and non-recurrent CAAF without hypertonic IAS. All patients were followed up for 5 years after surgery with evaluatio…
Fissurectomy and anoplasty in posterior normotensive chronic anal fissure.
2021
Purpose: Anal Fissure (AF) is the second most frequent proctological disease in Italy. Chronic AF (CAF) most common located at the posterior anal commissure (CAPF). CAPF are thought to be associated with hypertonic internal anal sphincter (IAS) but manometric findings showed that a normotonic IAS is present in the 20-40%. Sphincterotomy is often recommended as treatment of choice for CAF independently from IAS tone; nevertheless, this approach appears less logical for CAF with normotonic IAS, as in those cases there’s a higher risk of post-operative anal incontinence. The aim of this study is to evaluate the results of fissurectomy and anoplasty with V-Y cutaneous advancement flap, as treat…
