[Current developments and perspectives on the diagnosis and treatment of urinary incontinence and genital prolapse in women].
2012
As a key area of gynaecology, urogynaecology has undergone impressive changes in the past few years. Together with the high prevalence of functional pelvic floor disorders, modern anaesthesia procedures and the introduction of new, innovative minimally invasive operation techniques have led to a dramatic increase in the number of operations for incontinence and prolapses. The increasingly subtle diagnostic options, such as, e. g., 2D and 3D sonography of the pelvic floor provide unambiguous findings and facilitate decision making. Tension-free vaginal slings in retro-pubic, trans-obturator or single-incision techniques show a high success rate with few complications and have almost complete…
Long Term Results of Bladder Exstrophy
1999
After primary bladder closure or urinary diversion, other factors apart from the reconstruction gain importance for individuals with the exstrophy-epispadias complex: social integration and, after reaching puberty, sexuality and fertility.
Datu noliktavas platformas izvēle un ieviešana individuāli izstrādātai programmatūrai: izaicinājumi un risinājumi
2018
Laparoscopic Sacrocolpopexy in the treatment of Vaginal Vault Prolapse and Rectocele. Retrospective Study of 85 cases

Robotic versus laparoscopic sacrocolpopexy for apical prolapse: a case-control study
2016
The apical prolapse has always been considered the most complex of the defects of the pelvic floor, for both the difficulty of the surgical corrective technique and for the high post-surgical recurrence rate. Today, the laparoscopic sacrocolpopexy can be considered the standard treatment for apical prolapse. In the last years, several author performed robotic sacrocolpopexy, obtaining positive results. So, we developed a case-control study in order to compare the surgical outcome of robotic group with a control group of laparoscopic approach in patients with symptomatic apical pro-lapsed between January 2015 and December 2015 at University Hospital Policlinico “P. Giaccone” and Ospedali Riu…

Emoperitoneo da rottura di ematoma subcapsulare epatico indotto dal ketorolac dopo colecistectomia laparoscopica. Caso clinico
2008
Ketorolac is one of the most common nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs used to control postoperative pain. However, peri- and postoperative administration of ketorolac is associated with an increased risk of gastrointestinal bleeding as described in the literature. Notwithstanding this event is not frequent, it can expose the patient to serious complications that should be quickly recognised and effectively treated. We present a report about a female patient with cholelithiasis who underwent a laparoscopic cholecystectomy. After the operation, the patient had a haemorrhage that we attributed to surgery in a first time and then to administration of ketorolac

An innate cell-mediated, murine ulcerative colitis-like syndrome in the absence of nuclear factor of activated T cells.
2004
Abstract Background & Aims: Nuclear factor of activated T cells transcription factors plays a central role in immunity by regulating the expression of multiple cytokines and other regulatory molecules, many of which have been heavily implicated in the pathogenesis of inflammatory bowel disease. However, few studies have directly investigated the nuclear factor of activated T cells proteins in inflammatory bowel disease. We describe here a specific role for nuclear factor of activated T cells c2 in the pathogenesis of murine inflammatory bowel disease. Methods: Mice deficient for nuclear factor of activated T cells c2, recombinase activating gene-2, or both and transgenic or nontransgenic fo…
Effect of two antihypertensive combinations on metabolic control in type-2 diabetic hypertensive patients with albuminuria: a randomised, double-blin…
2001
The objective of this study was to compare, at equal blood pressure (BP) reduction, the effect of two different combinations on metabolic control and albuminuria in type 2 diabetic hypertensive patients with albuminuria. This was a prospective, randomised, double-blind, parallel, controlled trial carried out in 11 Spanish hospitals. A total of 103 type 2 diabetic patients with stable albuminuria and BP not controlled on monotherapy were randomised of which 93 finished the study. After a 4-week single-blind placebo period, patients were randomised to verapamil SR/trandolapril 180/2 mg (VT) or to enalapril/hydroclorothiazide 20/12.5 mg (EH). Treatment duration was 6 months. The main outcome m…
