El objetivo de este trabajo ha sido abordar los procesos de significación y dotación de sentido de las personas mayores que sobreviven en soledad no deseada. Para ello, hemos realizado una etnografía en la ciudad de València. Durante la investigación, hemos observado que los sujetos participantes detentan un estatus social que está intensamente marcado por su separación de las dinámicas sociales que regían sus vidas y por una devaluación extrema de su vida en términos de reconocimiento. Cathepsin K serum levels were determinated in patients with bone metastases from breast cancer or prostate cancer in therapy with zoledronic acid or in patients or in patients with located breast or prostate cancer end in patients with non malignant diseases and in healthy blood. donors (control group). Cathepsin K serum levels were significantly more eleved in healthy subjects or in patients with peimary osteoporosis. Furthermore, the administration of Zoledronic acid to patients with metastatic bome disease from breast or prostate cancer, induced a marked increase of Cathepsin K serum levels.

Bisphosphonates offer a significant improvement in the quality of life for cancer patients; these potent inhibitors of bone resorption have been shown to markedly reduce the morbidity frequently resulting from bone metastases. Despite the success of bisphosphonates as therapeutic agents, however, toxicity in the form of osteonecrosis of the jaw (ONJ) is a rare complication whose incidence rate has climbed in recent years. The purpose of this contribution is to re-examine the iconography of an Etruscan hydria by the Micali Painter, probably the most famous craftsman of the black-figure ceramics technique at the end of the 6th century B.C. In our opinion, this vase would present the Etruscan version of a Greek myth showing the ancient Tuscans as pirates attempting to kidnap Dionysus. This figuration, which also appears in Greek sources, could be interpreted as the rivalry between the two cultures for the control of the wine trade in the western part of the Mediterranean. Summary Background In patients with COPD, exacerbations are associated with poor quality of life and may shorten survival. Prevention of exacerbations is, therefore, a key objective in COPD management. Indacaterol, a once-daily ultra-long-acting β 2 -agonist, has been shown to reduce exacerbations in various studies.
