Estimation of the committed radiation dose resulting from gamma radionuclides ingested with food

The objective of the study was to estimate the value of the radiation dose absorbed in consequence of consumption of popular food products for individual age groups. Potatoes, corn and sugar beet were selected for the study. Edible parts of these plants were collected in experimental fields of the KWS Lochow Polska Sp. z o.o. seeding company in Kondratowice (Poland). On the basis of the obtained study results, it can be stated that in consequence of consumption of the selected food products, people may receive increased doses from both natural and artificial radioactive isotopes. Iron is an essential micronutrient for all eukaryotic organisms because it participates as a redox cofactor in a wide variety of biological processes. Recent studies in Saccharomyces cerevisiae have shown that in response to iron deficiency, an RNA-binding protein denoted Cth2 coordinates a global metabolic rearrangement that aims to optimize iron utilization. The Cth2 protein contains two Cx8Cx5Cx3H tandem zinc fingers (TZFs) that specifically bind to adenosine/uridine-rich elements within the 3' untranslated region of many mRNAs to promote their degradation. Jaunāko tehnoloģiju izmantošana darbības vārdu laiku apguvē 6. klasei

Bakalaura darbs ir pētījums par jaunāko tehnoloģiju izmantošanas iespējām darbības vārdu laiku apguvē 6. klasei. Pētījums tika veikts, pamatojoties uz ar datoru uzlabotu un ar mobilo telefonu uzlabotu valodas mācīšanas metodiku ar mērķi attīstīt un uzlabot skolēnu darbības vārdu lietošanas prasmi. Atsevišķa gadījuma izpēte tika pielietota kā galvenā empīriskās daļas izpētes metode un 14 skolēnu darbības vārdu zināšanas tika pārbaudītas, veicot pārbaudes darbus pirms un pēc mācīšanas tiešsaistes vidē un veicot anketēšanu. Iegūtie rezultāti pierāda, ka jaunāko tehnoloģiju izmantošana uzlabo skolēnu darbības vārdu lietošanas prasmi.

Chronic alcohol exposure reduces endocannabinoid activity and disrupts adult neurogenesis in rodents, which results in structural and functional alterations. Cannabinoid receptor agonists promote adult neural progenitor cell (NPC) proliferation. Sadzīvošana vairs nav viennozīmīgi pozitīvs vārds un iezīmē attiecību pārrāvumu, piespiešanos uzturēt attiecības, kur to vairs nav. Grāmatas virsrakstā tas ir palicis kā atgādinājums par savstarpējo attiecību dabas maiņu mūsdienu dzīvē cerībā, ka ar laiku mēs varēsim sadzīvošanu reabilitēt un piešķirt tai sākotnējo vērtību - būt ciešā sadarbībā un labās attiecībās citam ar citu. Erwinia piriflorinigrans sp. nov., a novel pathogen that causes necrosis of pear blossoms

Eight Erwinia strains, isolated from necrotic pear blossoms in València, Spain, were compared with reference strains of Erwinia amylovora and Erwinia pyrifoliae, both of which are pathogenic to species of pear tree, and to other species of the family Enterobacteriaceae using a polyphasic approach. Phenotypic analyses clustered the novel isolates into one phenon, distinct from other species of the genus Erwinia, showing that the novel isolates constituted a homogeneous phenotypic group.
