Biological invasions are recognized as a significant evolutionary factor over short time scales. In particular, their effect is well recorded on the genetic structure of populations, the patterns of phenotypic evolution and the richness of parasite fauna associated to invasive populations. Interferon α interferes with immunological tolerance.

The ability of regulatory T cells (Tregs) to promote immunological tolerance represents an important obstacle in cancer immunotherapy. We have recently discovered that the clinically established immunotherapeutic agent interferon α (IFNα) inactivates the suppressive functions of human Tregs. Here, we outline the mechanisms whereby IFNα mediates this important function and discuss its therapeutic implications for cancer immunotherapy.

Abstract Currently, intercultural and heterogeneous realities set the tone in 21st literary education. Therefore, the role of multicultural children's literature plays an essential role in order to reflect this intercultural diversity in Spanish classrooms. In this regard, The Other Side (2001) portrays an African American experience where interaction, communication and negotiation become crucial aspects for their protagonists. In this way, this picture book can be used not only to teach English as a foreign language in primary school, but also to show values like respect, tolerance and partnership.

The drying of vegetables is a very ancient practice for food preservation still in use nowadays. Tomatoes cut into two parts, added with salt and dried are an important element of the food tradition in south of Italy. Celem badań było wyznaczenie pojemności sorpcyjnej iłu smektytowego i torfu niskiego towarzyszących pokładom złóż węgli brunatnych w stosunku do barwnika Acid Green 16 (AG–16) oraz określenie mechanizmu jego wiązania. Wyniki wskazały, że badany torf niski był skutecznym sorbentem barwnika AG-16 w całym zakresie stężeń początkowych (1–1000 mg/dm3), natomiast ił smektytowy – jedynie z zakresie stężeń wysokich (> 250 mg/dm3). W wyniku aktywacji termicznej iłu nastąpił wzrost jego pojemności sorpcyjnej w stosunku do badanego barwnika. Dividing Responsibility for Care : Tracing the Ethics of Care in Local Care Strategies

This article analyses local care policies through the lens of the feminist ethics of care. The focus is on the normative understandings regarding care that emerge in local care strategy documents and how these understandings relate with the concept of ‘responsibility’. In this article, strategies published by the municipality of Jyväskylä, Finland, between the years 2008 and 2016, are analysed using Trace analysis. The research questions are: How is the division of responsibility regarding care among different actors constructed in the strategies? Dealing with viewers’ complaints: Role, visibility and transparency of PSB Ombudsmen in ten European countries

The article shows the results of a comparative analysis of the complaints management mechanisms offered by ten European Public Service Broadcasting (PSB) systems on their corporate websites. Using a qualitative methodology, it maps the procedures and evaluates the visibility, transparency and dissemination of results. The findings show, firstly, great diversity in terms of responsible election and management, despite the converging media governance.
