Indirect CP violation in the B-system

We show that, contrary to the flavour mixing amplitude q/p, both Re(epsilon) and Im(epsilon) are observable quantities, where epsilon is the phase- convention-independent CP mixing. We consider semileptonic B_d decays from a CP tag and build appropriate time-dependent asymmetries to separate out Re(epsilon) and Im(epsilon). "Indirect" CP violation would have in Im(epsilon)/(1+|epsilon|^2) its most prominent manifestation in the B-system, with expected values in the standard model ranging from -0.37 to -0.18. Correlated neutral B meson decays into CP eigenstates

In the two correlated $B$ meson decay experiment we propose to measure intensities relating CP eigenstate ($J/\psi K_{S,L}$) decays on $both$ sides, which will be measurable in future upgrades of KEK and PEP. As a CP-forbidden transition, we obtain $I(J/\psi K_S, J/\psi K_S, \Delta t) \sim \sin ^2 (2\beta)$. We calculate in a model independent way all the possible intensities relating final CP and flavour eigenstate decays. Under CPT-invariance, the asymmetries for processes related by CP$\Delta t$ vanish for $\Delta \Gamma =0$ and measure $\Delta \Gamma$ linearly. Lepton Transmutation in the Dualized Standard Model

The successful explanation of fermion mixing and of the fermion mass hierarchy by the Dualized Standard Model (DSM) scheme is based on the premises of a fermion mass matrix rotating in generation space with changing scales at a certain speed, which could in principle lead to sizeable flavour-violation observable in high sensitivity experiments such as BaBar. Impact of squark generation mixing on the search for gluinos at LHC

We study gluino decays in the Minimal Supersymmetric Standard Model (MSSM) with squark generation mixing. We show that the effect of this mixing on the gluino decay branching ratios can be very large in a significant part of the MSSM parameter space despite the very strong experimental constraints on quark flavour violation (QFV) from B meson observables. Especially we find that under favourable conditions the branching ratio of the QFV gluino decay (g) over tilde -> c (t) over tilde)((c) over tildet)(chi) over tilde (0)(1) can be as large as similar to 50%. Electric Dipole Moments in Two-Higgs-Doublet Models

Electric dipole moments are extremely sensitive probes for additional sources of CP violation in new physics models. Specifically, they have been argued in the past to exclude new CP-violating phases in two-Higgs-doublet models. Since recently models including such phases have been discussed widely, we revisit the available constraints in the presence of mechanisms which are typically invoked to evade flavour-changing neutral currents. The Minimal Flavour Violation benchmark in view of the latest LHCb data

We derive the consequences of the MFV hypothesis for $\Delta F =1$ flavour observables based on the latest LHCb data. Any future measurements beyond the MFV bounds and relations unambiguously indicate the existence of new flavour structures next to the Yukawa couplings of the Standard Model.

Masses, mixings, Yukawa couplings and their symmetries

We present a method to find the number of real and imaginary observable parameters coming from the Yukawa sector in an arbitrary gauge theory. The method leads naturally to a classification of Yukawa couplings according to their symmetries and suggests a new parametrization of masses and mixings that is useful to study the behaviour of Yukawa couplings under the renormalization group. We apply it to some examples based on the Standard Model with Yukawa couplings obeying various chiral symmetries. We also show how our method of parameter counting can be used in some models with an enlarged leptonic sector.

Lepton flavour nonconservation in H0 decays

Abstract We calculate the off-diagonal lepton-lepton-Higgs boson vertex induced by one-loop electroweak corrections, in the context of the standard model in which one right-handed neutrino for each family has been introduced. We find that in the presence of very heavy Majorana neutrinos the lepton-flavour-violating decays of the H0 boson can be significantly enhanced yielding observable signals at high energy collider machines.

Hunting a light CP- odd non-standard Higgs boson through its tauonic decay at a (Super) B factory

Several scenarios beyond the minimal extension of the Standard Model still allow light non-standard Higgs bosons evading LEP bounds. We examine the mixing between a light CP-odd Higgs boson and $\eta_b$ states and its implications on a slight (but observable) lepton universality breaking in Upsilon decays which could be measured at the percent level at a (Super) B factory.

Atmospheric neutrinos and nu mass hierarchy

We discuss the possibility for matter effects in the three-neutrino oscillations of the atmospheric nu_e (bar{nu}_e) and nu_mu (bar{nu}_mu), driven by one neutrino mass squared difference, |Delta m2_{31}| >> Delta m2_{21}, to be observable under appropriate conditions. We derive predictions for the Nadir angle (theta_n) dependence of the ratio N_mu/N_e of the rates of the mu-like and e-like multi-GeV events which is particularly sensitive to the Earth matter effects in the atmospheric neutrino oscillations, and thus to the values of sin2{theta_{13}} and sin2{theta_{23}}, and also to the type of neutrino mass spectrum.
