Age as a Risk Factor for Burnout Syndrome in Nursing Professionals: A Meta-Analytic Study

Although past research has highlighted the possibility of a direct relationship between the age of nursing professionals and burnout syndrome, results have been far from conclusive. The aim of this study was to conduct a wider analysis of the influence of age on the three dimensions of burnout syndrome (emotional exhaustion, depersonalization, and personal accomplishment) in nurses. Resumen Objetivo: Describir los resultados de la aplicación del European Quality Instrument for Health Promotion (EQUIHP) en el Programa MIH salud y la percepción de su utilidad por el equipo ejecutor de este. Método: Estudio de evaluación aplicando EQUIHP a un programa de promoción de la salud. Autocumplimentación de EQUIHP por ocho mujeres y dos hombres del equipo MIH salud, y realización de dos entrevistas grupales con este equipo sobre la percepción de su utilidad. Abstract This paper examines the relationship between health endowment and later-life outcomes in the labour market. The analysis is based on reduced-form models in which labour market outcomes are regressed on genetic variants related to the increased risk of cardiovascular diseases. We use linked Finnish data that have many strengths. Genetic risk scores constitute exogenous measures for health endowment, and accurate administrative tax records on earnings, employment and social income transfers provide a comprehensive account of an individual’s long-term performance in the labour market. Questioning and advising in health counselling: results from a study of Finnish nurse counsellors

The purpose of this study is to describe the main ways in which nurse coun sellors' questions and advice are initiated, received, accepted or refused during health counselling. Thirty-eight health counselling situations were videotaped in a Finnish hospital and the data were examined using adapted conversation analysis. We found two types of health counselling models, which fluctuated during the encounters.
