Baryonic resonances from baryon decuplet-meson octet interaction

We study $S$-wave interactions of the baryon decuplet with the octet of pseudoscalar mesons using the lowest order chiral Lagrangian. In the S=1 sector, we find an attractive interaction in the $\Delta K$ channel with I=1 while it is repulsive for I=2. The attractive interaction leads to a pole in the second Riemann sheet of the complex plane and is manifested as a large strength in the scattering amplitude close to the $\Delta K$ threshold, which is not the case for I=2. We use the unitarized coupled channel approach to also investigate all the other possible values of strangeness and isospin. Production of a forward J/Psi and a backward jet at the LHC

We study the production of a forward $J/\psi$ meson and a backward jet with a large rapidity separation at the LHC using the BFKL formalism. We compare the predictions given by the Non Relativistic QCD (NRQCD) approach to charmonium prediction and by the Color Evaporation Model. In NRQCD, we find that the $^3 S_1^{\, 8}$ part of the onium wavefunction is completely dominating the process. NRQCD and the color evaporation model give similar results, although a discrepancy seems to appear as the value of the transverse momenta of the charmonium and of the jet decrease.
Determination of the $\theta_{23}$ octant in LBNO

According to the recent results of the neutrino oscillation experiment MINOS, the neutrino mixing angle $\theta_{23}$ may not be maximal ($45^{\circ}$). Two nearly degenerate solutions are possible, one in the lower octant (LO) where $\theta_{23}45^{\circ}$. Long baseline experiments measuring the $\nu_{\mu}\rightarrow\nu_{e}$ are capable of resolving this degeneracy. In this work we study the potential of the planned European LBNO experiment to distinguish between the LO and HO solutions.
Radiative decays of the Δ*(1700) and the Λ*(1520)

Electromagnetic properties provide information about the structure of strongly interacting systems and allow for independent tests of hadronic models. The radiative decays of the Δ*(1700) and Λ*(1520) are studied, which appear dynamically generated in a coupled channel approach from the rescattering of the (3/2+) decuplet of baryons with the (0−) octet of pseudoscalar mesons. The radiative decays are predicted from the well-known couplings of the photon to the mesons and hadrons which constitute these resonances in the dynamical picture.
Determination of the θ23 octant in long baseline neutrino experiments within and beyond the standard model

The recent data indicate that the neutrino mixing angle $\theta_{23}$ deviates from the maximal-mixing value of 45$^\circ$, showing two nearly degenerate solutions, one in the lower octant (LO) ($\theta_{23}45^\circ$). We investigate, using numerical simulations, the prospects for determining the octant of $\theta_{23}$ in the future long baseline oscillation experiments. We present our results as contour plots on the ($\theta_{23}-45^\circ$, $\delta$)--plane, where $\delta$ is the $CP$ phase, showing the true values of $\theta_{23}$ for which the octant can be experimentally determined at 3$\,\sigma$, 2$\,\sigma$ and 1$\,\sigma$ confidence level. Nature of the axial-vector mesons from their N-c behavior within the chiral unitary approach

By describing within the chiral unitary approach the g-wave interaction of the vector meson nonet with the octet of pseudoscalar Goldstone bosons, we find that the main component of the axial-vector mesons -b(1)(1235), h(1)(1170), h(1)(1380), a(1)(1260), f(1)(1285) and the two states associated to the K-1(1270)- does not follow the QCD dependence on the number of colors for ordinary q (q) over bar mesons.
Quark-mass dependence of baryon resonances

We study the quark-mass dependence of J^P = \frac12^- s-wave and J^P = \frac32^- d-wave baryon resonances. Parameter-free results are obtained in terms of the leading order chiral Lagrangian. In the 'heavy' SU(3) limit with m_\pi =m_K \simeq 500 MeV the s-wave resonances turn into bound states forming two octets plus a singlet representations of the SU(3) group. Similarly the d-wave resonances turn into bound states forming an octet and a decuplet in this limit. A contrasted result is obtained in the 'light' SU(3) limit with m_\pi =m_K \simeq 140 MeV for which no resonances exist.

Abstract The Spherical Top Data System (STDS) program suite developed in Dijon has been extended into two directions. First, the vibrational extrapolation is now possible for any kind of polyad scheme, this one being fully specified in the input parameters of the programs for hamiltonian and transition moment model calculations. This was not the case of the preceding version which was based on the polyad scheme of methane. Secondly, it is now possible to study any band and polyad of XY 6 molecule for which a complete treatment in the O h group is made. C4v Top Data System (C4v TDS) software for infrared spectrum simulation of XY5Z symmetric molecules

Abstract The Highly spherical Top Data System program suite developed in Dijon has been extended in the aim of studying any rovibrational band or polyad of XY5Z (C4v) symmetric top molecules. We work in the O(3)⊃Oh⊃C4v chain because most of these species result from the substitution of one ligand of the corresponding spherical tops and thus are relatively close to octahedral symmetry. The choice of this group chain has consequences in the way in which it is used to specify the input parameters of the programs for Hamiltonian and transition moment model calculations. High-resolution FTIR spectrum and analysis of the ν2+ν4 combination band of 32SF6

Abstract The spectroscopic knowledge of sulfur hexafluoride, which is necessary for a correct remote sensing and monitoring of this species in the Earth’s atmosphere, is still very partial. In particular, the hot bands in the strongly absorbing ν 3 region (near 948 cm −1 ) have not been analyzed yet. Their study implies the analysis of many vibrational levels and thus the spectroscopy of various fundamental, harmonic, and combination bands. The present work is a new contribution to this topic, concerning the ν 2 + ν 4 combination band.
