Krajowa Rada Narodowa i Polski Komitet Wyzwolenia Narodowego w państwie prawa. Stanowiska doktryny

2021

<p>The establishment of the communist regime in Poland in 1944 is a current subject of reflection in the doctrine and practice of legislation and judiciary. There has been no uniform position on these events, which means that the then sanctioned political and normative order continues to produce controversial assessments and, above all, certain legal effects. This results from the fact that the new people’s power, empowered by force, and not by legal or social basis, has given itself the competence to establish a normative order. The lack of legitimacy for the rightful rule and legislative activity, in principle – from the point of view of the idea of the rule of law – undermines the …

Competition for resources modulates cell-mediated immunity and stress hormone level in nestling collared doves (Streptopelia decaocto)

2008

International audience; Competitive stress imposed by hatching asynchrony may affect developmental trajectories of offsprings by regulating resource allocation between growth and other fitness-related traits. For instance, the down-regulation of immunity is a commonly observed phenomenon under stressful conditions. However, physiological mechanisms that regulate resources allocation to growth and immune functions in response to competition for resources, as well as inter-sexual differences in physiological strategies, are still poorly investigated. To partially fill this gap, we first conducted a descriptive study on chicks of the collared dove (Streptopelia decaocto), a species producing t…

Web counseling: A new health discourse

2011

The current research seeks to analyse a corpus formed by question entries on health issues that appeared in biomedical/health sites and forums. The focus of the paper is to identify the dimension of reality portrayed in health web-discourse. The samples collected were analysed individually and then organised in tables in order to find discourse patterns for structure and organization of moves together with their functional meaning. For each move, grammatical items were identified in order to assess the dimension of evidentiality, modality, and affect. The writer's attitude toward the stance is analyzed through epistemic modality; the reliability and the qualification of source-of-informatio…

Doctor-patient exchanges in web counselling

2011

There are two overall approaches to doctor-patient interaction: the biomedical one and the socio-relational one. The biomedical approach is the most common and tends to explore the asymmetrical doctor-patient relationship. with the doctor seeking information about the patient’s complaints, giving a diagnosis and prescribing a treatment. The aim of this kind of communication is to create a good relationship in order to exchange information and facilitate treatment-related decisions. However, it is well-known that the production of talk is linked to the context. The relationship between doctor and patients can be performed online, through specific collaborative care service sites. It is still…

Embedded Processing and Compression of 3D Sensor Data for Large Scale Industrial Environments

2019

This paper presents a scalable embedded solution for processing and transferring 3D point cloud data. Sensors based on the time-of-flight principle generate data which are processed on a local embedded computer and compressed using an octree-based scheme. The compressed data is transferred to a central node where the individual point clouds from several nodes are decompressed and filtered based on a novel method for generating intensity values for sensors which do not natively produce such a value. The paper presents experimental results from a relatively large industrial robot cell with an approximate size of 10 m &times

The RFID technology for neurosciences: feasibility of limbs' monitoring in sleep diseases.

2009

This contribution investigates the feasibility of the passive UHF RF identification technology for the wireless monitoring of human body movements in some common sleep disorders by means of passive tags equipped with inertial switches. Electromagnetic and mechanical models as well as preliminary experimentations are introduced to analyze all the significant issues concerning the required power, the tag antenna design, the read distance, and the expected biosignals collected by the interrogation device.

libvdwxc: A library for exchange-correlation functionals in the vdW-DF family

2017

We present libvdwxc, a general library for evaluating the energy and potential for the family of vdW-DF exchange--correlation functionals. libvdwxc provides an efficient implementation of the vdW-DF method and can be interfaced with various general-purpose DFT codes. Currently, the GPAW and Octopus codes implement interfaces to libvdwxc. The present implementation emphasizes scalability and parallel performance, and thereby enables \textit{ab initio} calculations of nanometer-scale complexes. The numerical accuracy is benchmarked on the S22 test set whereas parallel performance is benchmarked on ligand-protected gold nanoparticles ($\text{Au}_{144}(\text{SC}_{11}\text{NH}_{25})_{60}$) up to…

The effect of Cu substitution on the A1g mode of La(0.7)Sr(0.3)MnO3 manganites

2003

We report on the first Raman data of Cu substituted La(1-y)Sr(y)Mn(1-x)Cu(x)O3 (0 < x < 0.10 and 0.17 < y < 0.3, accordingly in order to have the same Mn(4+)/[Mn(4+)+Mn(3+)] ratio), collected in the frequency range 100-900 cm-1 and at room temperature, with parallel and crossed polarizations of the incident and scattered light. Spectra were fitted with a Drude-Lorentz model, and peaks at 190-220 and 430 cm-1, together with two broad structures centered at near 500 and 670 cm-1, have been found. We also have observed that the A1g mode is substantially shifted with increasing Cu substitution. The A1g phonon shift is a linear function of the tolerance factor t and the rhombohedral …

Self-assembly in surfactant-based liquid mixtures: Octanoic acid/Bis(2-ethylhexyl)amine systems

2012

Abstract The physico-chemical properties of Bis(2-ethylhexyl)amine (BEEA) plus octanoic acid (OA) mixtures have been investigated by IR, SAXS, WAXS, viscosimetry, and AC complex impedance spectroscopy in the whole composition range. Mainly driven by proton transfer from the acidic OA to the basic BEEA, the formation of stoichiometrically well-defined adducts takes place in the mixtures. This causes the slowing down of molecular dynamics and the increase in charge carrier number density. Interestingly, while the pure components possess no significant conductivity (about 10−12 S cm−1 at 25 °C), their mixtures show a composition-dependent enhanced conductivity (up to about 10−5 S cm−1), i.e., …
