Career Paths in Institutional Business Elites: Finnish Family Firms from 1762–2010

This article analyzes the career paths of family business executives in institutional business elites in Finland using an empirical database based on a Bourdieusian prosopographical approach. The results indicate that career paths became more complex but shortened in length toward the beginning of the twenty-first century. The early career paths of family executives changed from positions as assistants and salesmen in the eighteenth and nineteenth centuries to governance, chief executive officer (CEO), and management positions in the twentieth and twenty-first centuries. Most contributions on agency and representation in medieval law tend to look at collegiate offices, not individual ones: when, how and to what extent can a plurality of people be represented by a single individual. For individual offices - that is, offices not representing a collectivity - the approach was typically another. Masteroppgave Sosiologi og sosialt arbeid ME522 - Universitetet i Agder 2017 Formålet med denne oppgaven er å få en forståelse for det emosjonelle arbeidet som frontlinjeansatte på nav utøver. Fokuset er å belyse både hvordan de opplever og hvordan de håndterer ulike situasjoner de kommer opp i. Oppgaven er basert på intervjuer og observasjoner av totalt 13 ansatte på et lokalt nav-kontor som arbeider tett med brukere innenfor ulike avdelinger. OBIETTIVO. Il nostro studio è stato disegnato per valutare sistematicamente la correlazione dell'edema della porzione supero-laterale del corpo adiposo di Hoffa con diversi parametri anatomici della morfologia trocleare e dell'allineamento della rotula. MATERIALI E METODI. Abbiamo riesaminato in maniera retrospettiva 50 esami RM di ginocchio di 47 pazienti, eseguiti nel periodo gennaio 2011-marzo 2011 per la presenza di edema nella porzione supero-laterale del cuscinetto adiposo di Hoffa e di anomalie anatomiche associate dell'articolazione femoro-rotulea. A main problem in oncology is the development of drug-resistance. Some plant-derived lignans are established in cancer therapy, e.g. the semisynthetic epipodophyllotoxins etoposide and teniposide. Their activity is, unfortunately, hampered by the ATP-binding cassette (ABC) efflux transporter, P-glycoprotein. Here, we investigated the bisphenolic honokiol derived from Magnolia officinalis. A simple, sensitive and accurate method for the analysis of furan in roasted coffee has been used based on headspace-solid-phase micro-extraction (HS-SPME) coupled to gas chromatography-mass spectrometry (GC-MS). The extraction was performed using 75-microm carboxen/polydimethylsiloxane fiber. Ionic strength, extraction time and temperature, and desorption time were assessed as the most important parameters affecting the HS-SPME procedure and d(4)-furan was used as the internal standard. Transplantation Centers using human cytomegalovirus (HCMV) antigenemia-based preemptive therapy will need to replace in the near future the antigenemia assay with a more standardized and automatable assay, such as a molecular assay quantifying HCMV DNA in blood (DNAemia). Thus, in view of replacing antigenemia with clinically safe cutoff values, DNAemia levels corresponding to antigenemia cutoffs guiding HCMV preemptive therapy were determined retrospectively in solid organ and hematopoietic stem cell transplant recipients (HSCTR) using an "in-house" quantitative PCR (QPCR) method.
