2014
This research will analyze the variables differentiating between the audiovisual television of the XIII edition of the Paralympic Games and the Games of the XXIX Olympiad, held in Beijing from the 7th of September to the 17th, 2008. This study will serve as a methodological basis for similar future research. By means of a qualitative and quantitative methodology, this study also focuses on determining if TV representations of Paralympic sportspersons favour their social integration or if, on the contrary, lead to higher stigmatization.

Evaluating the (Your Country Here) Olympic Medal Count
2013
An Olympic Games is a measurable test of a nation´s sporting power. Medal counts are the object of intense scrutiny after every Olympiad. Most countries celebrate any medal with national glee, since 60% of competing countries will win none. In 2012, 10% of the competing countries won 75% of all medals. Despite this concentration among a few countries, more countries are winning more medals now than 20 years ago, thanks in part to athlete-support and -development programs arising around the globe. Small strong sporting countries like Norway are typified by fairly large variation in medal results from Olympiad to Olympiad and a high concentration of results in a few sports. These are importan…
NATIONAL PHYSICS OLYMPIADS FROM THE POINT OF VIEW OF PARTICIPANTS AND PHYSICS TEACHERS

We have conducted a survey of physics teachers (NT=188),…
Annales Fennici Mathematici : tieteellisen lehden uudistamistyö
2022
Tutkimuspalaverissa yhdysvaltalaisten kollegojen kanssa jälleen käydään keskustelua julkaisupaikasta artikkelillemme. Joku kysäisee pian ”What about the Finnish Annals?”, johon vastataan yleisesti positiivisin ja myöntyvin myhäilyin. Kansainvälisesti lehti muistetaankin monilla lempinimillä osittain johtuen sen alkuperäisestä pitkästä nimestä ”Annales Academiæ Scientiarum Fennicæ Series A. I. Mathematica”. Toisaalta vaikkei lehti aivan samalla tasolla olekaan kuin Princetonissa julkaistu johtava lehti Annals of Mathematics, niin on sitä myös pitkään arvostettu erityisesti suomalaisen tutkimuksen vahvuusalueella, analyysissä. nonPeerReviewed
Lukiolaisten kansainväliset fysiikkakilpailut
2022
