MonoGame- ja Unity-ympäristöjen vertailu pelinkehityksessä

Tutkielmassa verrataan MonoGamea ja Unitya pelinkehitysalustoina C#-kielellä. Tarkoituksena on selvittää MonoGamen ja Unityn eroja ja potentiaalisia vahvuuksia toisiinsa verrattuna, ensisijaisesti 2D-peleissä ja aloittelevan pelinkehittäjän näkökulmasta. Tutkimusmenetelmänä on kirjallisuuskatsaus ja vertailu molemmilla sovelluksilla toteutetun bullet hell -genreen sijoittuvan esimerkkipelin avulla. Sekä MonoGamen että Unityn toimintaan tutustutaan erillisissä luvuissa, ja tutustumisen jälkeen toteutetaan esimerkkipeli molemmilla sovelluksilla. A new species of the genus Cyclopelta (Hemiptera: Dinidoridae) from Thailand, with a key to its Oriental species

Cyclopelta gibbosasp. nov., a new species of dinidorid bug is described from Thailand and compared with Cyclopelta obscura. It is the ninth Oriental species of the genus, and the fourth known species from Thailand. A key to all the Oriental species of the genus Cyclopelta is also provided. The type specimens are deposited with the Smithsonian National Museum of Natural History, Washington, USA, and the Department of Biosystematics, Opole University, Poland.

Prompt Photon Identification in the ALICE Experiment: The Isolation Cut Method

Submitted for publication in NIM; The ALICE experiment at LHC will detect and identify prompt photons and light neutral mesons with the PHOS and EMCal detectors. Charged particles will be detected and identified by the central tracking system. In this paper, a method to identify prompt photons and to separate them from the background of hadrons and decay photons in PHOS with the help of isolation cuts is presented.

Performance of prototypes for the ALICE electromagnetic calorimeter

The performance of prototypes for the ALICE electromagnetic sampling calorimeter has been studied in test beam measurements at FNAL and CERN. A $4\times4$ array of final design modules showed an energy resolution of about 11% /$\sqrt{E(\mathrm{GeV})}$ $\oplus$ 1.7 % with a uniformity of the response to electrons of 1% and a good linearity in the energy range from 10 to 100 GeV. The electromagnetic shower position resolution was found to be described by 1.5 mm $\oplus$ 5.3 mm /$\sqrt{E \mathrm{(GeV)}}$. For an electron identification efficiency of 90% a hadron rejection factor of $>600$ was obtained.

Molecular phylogeny of hyperoliid treefrogs: biogeographic origin of Malagasy and Seychellean taxa and re-analysis of familial paraphyly

Treefrogs of the family Hyperoliidae are distributed in Africa, Madagascar and the Seychelles. In this study, their phylogeny was studied using sequences of fragments of the mitochondrial 16Sand 12SrRNA and cytochrome b genes. The molecular data strongly confirmed monophyly of the subfamily Hyperoliinae but indicated that the genus Leptopelis (subfamily Leptopelinae) is more closely related to species of the African family Astylosternidae. The Seychellean genus Tachycnemis was the sister group of the Malagasy Heterixalus in all molecular analyses; this clade was deeply nested within the Hyperoliinae. ALICE (A Large Ion Collider Experiment) is studying the physics of strongly interacting matter, and in particular the properties of the Quark–Gluon Plasma (QGP), using proton–proton, proton–nucleus and nucleus–nucleus collisions at the CERN LHC (Large Hadron Collider). The ALICE Collaboration is preparing a major upgrade of the experimental apparatus, planned for installation in the second long LHC shutdown in the years 2018–2019.
