Con el objetivo de reconstruir el paisaje geomorfológico de finales del cuaternario y comienzos del Holoceno, se ha utilizado gvSIG y sextante para intentar establecer el paisaje a partir de los datos de campoarquelógicos y geomorfológicos recogidos durante una veintena de años en la cuenca media y alta del río Serpis. La evolución cuaternaria es la historia de un vaciado (erosión + denudación) de los valles del curso alto y medio del Serpis, con algunas interrupciones (fases de sedimentación). Adoption of Open Source Software and Software-as-a- Service Models in the Telecommunication Industry

A case research is carried out on adoption of open source software (OSS) and software-as-a-service (SaaS) in the telecommunication industry. The study was conducted to examine the types of software deployed as OSS and SaaS and the conditions of adopting OSS and SaaS. Findings of the case study indicate that industry-specific software is not developed as OSS or deployed in SaaS mode. Based on the findings, we also arrive at conclusion: Adoption is hindered by specificity of processes and technology interfaces.

An Exploratory Empirical Study of Internal Quality Attributes of Open Source Software Systems

This exploratory empirical study has focused on open source software (OSS). Seven medium-sized OSS systems from the SourceForge repository were analysed. Over 100 internal quality attributes and programming practices were scrutinized by using two semi-automated source code analysis tools (FindBugs and SoftCalc). Many statistically significant relations were revealed by the conducted regression analyses. Seven so-called bad programming practices; as manifested by the measured source code inconsistencies were identified as having significant relations to internal software quality. FINDUS: An Open-Source 3D Printable Liquid-Handling Workstation for Laboratory Automation in Life Sciences

3D-printed laboratory devices can enable ambitious research purposes even at a low-budget level. To follow this trend, here we describe the construction, calibration, and usage of the FINDUS (Fully Integrable Noncommercial Dispensing Utility System). We report the successful 3D printing and assembly of a liquid-handling workstation for less than $400. Using this setup, we achieve reliable and flexible liquid-dispensing automation with relative pipetting errors of less than 0.3%. NeoFox: annotating neoantigen candidates with neoantigen features

Abstract Summary The detection and prediction of true neoantigens is of great importance for the field of cancer immunotherapy. Wesearched the literature for proposed neoantigen features and integrated them into a toolbox called NEOantigen Feature toolbOX (NeoFox). NeoFox is an easy-to-use Python package that enables the annotation of neoantigen candidates with 16 neoantigen features. Extended Poster Abstract: Open Source Solution for Massive Map Sheet Georeferencing Tasks for Digital Archiving

Scanned maps need to be georeferenced, to be useful in a GIS environment for data extraction (vectorization), web publishing or spatially-aware archiving. Widely used software solutions with georeferencing functionality are designed to suit a universal scenario for georeferencing many different kinds of data sources. Such general nature also makes them very time-consuming for georeferencing a large number of map sheets to a known grid. This work presents an alternative scenario for georeferencing large numbers of map sheets in a time-efficient manner and implements the approach as the MapSheetAutoGeoRef plug-in for the freely available open source Quantum GIS [1].
