Abstract Background: A substantial proportion of patients fail first line treatment of diffuse large B-cell lymphoma. Currently available salvage therapies are often ineffective and cannot be tolerated, especially for elderly patients. Thus, probably less than 25% of patients achieve a long lasting remission. [EN] Sharing research data is an increasingly necessary requirement for the advancement of science. The aim of this study was to analyse the policies on openness in sharing scientific research data in substance abuse journals. Journals included in the Substance abuse area of the Journal Citation Reports were used for the analysis, with reference to the instructions to authors published on the journals websites. In 67.6% of the journals, it is possible to store materials in thematic or institutional repositories; 47% accept supplemental material; 64.7% allow the reuse of data, and 41.2% admit the publication of their data on a website. Two kinds of ansa derivatives, [SiMe2(η5-C5H4)2]MCl2 and [CMe2(η5-C5H4)2]MCl2 (M = Mo, W), are reacted with metallophosphide anions [PPh2M‘(CO)x]- (M‘ = Cr, Mo, W, x = 5; M‘ = Fe, x = 4). The silicon-bridged derivatives give the bimetallic systems [SiMe2(η5-C5H4)(η5-C5H3PPh2M‘(CO)x)]M(H)(Cl), which result from a regioselective substitution at the 3-position on the cyclopentadienyl ligand. In contrast, with the CMe2-bridged compounds, the substitution reaction occurs at the metallic center, giving μ-phosphido bimetallic complexes [CMe2(η5-C5H4)2]M(Cl)(μ-PPh2)M‘(CO)x. The solid-state structure of the bimetallic complex [CMe2(η5-C5H4)2]W(Cl)(μ-PPh2)Fe(CO)4 (7d) is reported.
A facile semi-open method for synthesis of non-centrosymmetric superconducting Li2(Pd,Pt)3B bulks and thin films

Abstract Non-centrosymmetric superconductor Li 2 (Pd 1− x Pt x ) 3 B, x = 0–1 was synthesized from mixtures of the elements. A simple semi-open method is proposed using endings-pressed stainless steel tubes placed in a high-vacuum furnace. Heating regime employed a short-time overheating at 900 °C and a slow cooling step between T s and 550 °C within 3 h. To adequately compensate Li-losses and attain maximum critical temperature, the optimum T s and starting Li-content were found to change from 720 to 740 °C and from Li 2.4 to Li 2.6 , respectively, when x was changing from 0 to 1. Catalytic and catalytic photo-assisted hydration of propene to 2-propanol in gas-solid regime at atmospheric pressure and 85°C were carried out by using the Keggin heteropolyacid (HPA) H3PW12O40 (PW12) supported on home prepared SiO2, WO3, TiO2 or N-doped TiO2. The HPA played the key role both in catalytic and photocatalytic reactions; however, the support strongly influenced the binary material performance. The contemporary presence of heat and UV light improved the activity of the (photo)catalysts. EPR (Electron Paramagnetic Resonance) has been used to understand the intimate mechanism underlying the photoactivity of the supported heteropolyacid and the role played by the support.

Advocates for a social Europe are worried that the accession of ex-Eastern Bloc countries into the European Community would lead European corporations to emphasize a financial orientation rather than a societal orientation. We examined this question in a study of the values orientations of 3,836 managers in 16 countries representing established EU, new EU, and candidate EU country groups. Within-Europe managerial values convergence was found in a relatively high openness to change and low self-enhancement values. Strain 1470 is the standard typing strain for serogroup F of Clostridium difficile containing both toxin genes, toxA-1470 and toxB-1470. A polymerase chain reaction (PCR)-based approach to the sequencing of the total toxB-1470 gene identified an open reading frame (ORF) of 7104 nucleotides. In comparison with the previously sequenced toxB of C. difficile VP10463, the toxB-1470 gene has 16 additional nucleotides, 13 within the 5'-untranslated region and three within the coding region. The M(r) of ToxB-1470 is 269,262, with an isoelectric point (IP) of 4.16. The equivalent values for ToxB are M(r) 269,709 and IP 4.13.
