Resum: I risvolti sovranazionali riscontrati nei tre protagonisti dei romanzi del Quattrocento catalano (Jacob Xalabín, Curial e Tirant) consentono di procedere a un’analisi del Curial e Güelfa che ne sottolinea l’identità multipla e l’apertura culturale del processo di formazione del protagonista, nella sua ascesa economica e sociale. L’evoluzione del protagonista, grazie a un meccanismo psicologico, oggi riconosciuto come tale, consente il lieto fine del romanzo, diversamente da quanto avviene negli altri due, dove i protagonisti, Jacob e Tirant, rimangono sempre gli stessi. Two centuries later, the legend Chopin-Sand continues to supply the collective imaginary with vague readings, where historical truthfulness, let alone musical truth, is often contingent on the literary. The much discussed and bellicose romance between the Polish composer and the French novelist, George Sand, tends to some reductionism and evades an obvious reality: Fryderyk Chopin meets George Sand when she was already the mother of two children. This circumstance suggests reformulating certain romantic stereotypes. Nietzsche fue, quizá en primer lugar, un poeta, un escritor-poeta [Dichter] que escribía sobre todo para poetas y que, por fortuna, tal y como él deseaba, ha sido leído desde esa misma pasión por otros poetas, e interpretado artísticamente por ellos como no lo suelen hacer los académicos. En efecto, él siguió con personal radicalidad la senda abierta por uno de sus más queridos modelos, Goethe y su Poesía y verdad, y aquí desearíamos presentarlo en la medida en que ha sido escuchado, pensado y transformado por otro Dichter, el escritor Thomas Mann, en una parte quizá poco conocida de su producción.

Existence theorems for inclusions of the type

For a family of operator inclusions with convex closed-valued right-hand sides in Banach spaces, the existence of solutions is obtained by chiefly using Ky Fan's fixed point principle. The main result of the paper improves Theorem 1 in [16] as well as Theorem 2.2 of [3]. Some meaningful concrete cases are also presented and discussed.

We introduce and study Banach spaces which have property CWO, i.e., every finite convex combination of relatively weakly open subsets of their unit ball is open in the relative weak topology of the unit ball. Stability results of such spaces are established, and we introduce and discuss a geometric condition---property (co)---on a Banach space. Property (co) essentially says that the operation of taking convex combinations of elements of the unit ball is, in a sense, an open map. We show that if a finite dimensional Banach space $X$ has property (co), then for any scattered locally compact Hausdorff space $K$, the space $C_0(K,X)$ of continuous $X$-valued functions vanishing at infinity has…

Abstract Let H ∞ ( B c 0 ) be the algebra of all bounded holomorphic functions on the open unit ball of c 0 and M ( H ∞ ( B c 0 ) ) the spectrum of H ∞ ( B c 0 ) . We prove that for any point z in the closed unit ball of l ∞ there exists an analytic injection of the open ball B l ∞ into the fiber of z in M ( H ∞ ( B c 0 ) ) , which is an isometry from the Gleason metric of B l ∞ to the Gleason metric of M ( H ∞ ( B c 0 ) ) . We also show that, for some Banach spaces X, B l ∞ can be analytically injected into the fiber M z ( H ∞ ( B X ) ) for every point z ∈ B X .
