Angular-resolved electron spectroscopy from (110) surfaces of ternary Ce-based intermetallics: CePd2Si2 and CeNi2Ge2

1997

Investigations of electronic properties were carried out for the ternary Ce-based intermetallic systems CeT2X2 (T = Ni, Pd; X = Ge, Si). To produce well-ordered and atomically clean surfaces, preparation is carried out in UHV. The polycrystalline substance was evaporated on a W(110) substrate with subsequent annealing. The single-crystalline layers obtained are characterised by MEED (thickness), AES (surface stoichiometry), LEED and SEM (surface structure). For electron-spectroscopic investigations, ARUPS (angle-resolved photoemission spectroscopy) was used. In the photoemission spectra, dispersion effects could be detected by variation of the detection angle.

Fenomenologia di un’opera d’arte “totale”

2014

Phenomenology of a work of "total" art The Italian memorial at Auschwitz From the first project idea, the initiative ANED for the construction of a Memorial was aimed to tell the tragic story of the Italian deportation, and had founded in the potential of art the most suitable tool for the construction of memory. The Memorial was configured as a true work of total art, coincidence of intention and perfect synthesis of the various arts in compliance with the same program: a choral work, work of artists and intellectuals who, each in its own jurisdiction, had composed it like an "organic" system in the deep sharing of the ultimate meaning of the thinking and doing. Starting from these premise…

Eredità della musica. David J.Bach e i concerti dei lavoratori viennesi (1905-1934)

2007

Using continuous user authentication to detect masqueraders

2003

Nowadays computer and network intrusions have become more common and more complicated, challenging the intrusion detection systems. Also, network traffic has been constantly increasing. As a consequence, the amount of data to be processed by an intrusion detection system has been growing, making it difficult to efficiently detect intrusions online. Proposes an approach for continuous user authentication based on the user’s behaviour, aiming at development of an efficient and portable anomaly intrusion detection system. A prototype of a host‐based intrusion detection system was built. It detects masqueraders by comparing the current user behaviour with his/her stored behavioural model. The m…

Analysis of the authors’ rights collection frontier using PCA-MDEA: an application to the Valencia region

2002

The aim of this paper is to estimate the authors’ rights collection frontier within the collection zones into which the Valencia Region (Spain) has been divided. To be more exact, a nonparametric frontier technique (Modified Data Envelopment Analysis, MDEA) and the Principal Components Analysis (PCA) are jointly employed to map out an initial approach to the potential authors’ rights collection within this region (as divided into collection zones). The analysis has been carried out both jointly and by majority sectors (performing, musical, and audio-visual arts). Publicaciones Econcult: Área de Investigación en Economía de la Cultura y Turismo. Dual motor responses elicited by ethanol administered into the pVTA of rats: Implications for the development of a new strategy for alcohol-relapse t…

2015

Autocorrelation Metrics to Estimate Soil Moisture Persistence From Satellite Time Series: Application to Semiarid Regions

2021

Satellite-derived soil moisture (SM) products have become an important information source for the study of land surface processes in hydrology and land monitoring. Characterizing and estimating soil memory and persistence from satellite observations is of paramount relevance, and has deep implications in ecology, water management, and climate modeling. In this work, we address the problem of SM persistence estimation from microwave sensors using several autocorrelation metrics that, unlike traditional approaches, build on accurate estimates of the autocorrelation function from nonuniformly sampled time series. We show how the choice of the autocorrelation estimator can have a dramatic impac…

UV-induced cross-linking of Tet repressor to DNA containing tet operator sequences and 8-azidoadenines.

1990

The synthesis of 8-azido-2'-deoxyadenosine-5'-triphosphate is described. The photoreactive dATP analog was characterized by thin layer chromatography, proton resonance spectroscopy, infrared spectroscopy and UV spectroscopy. Its photolysis upon UV irradiation was studied. After incorporation of this dATP analog into DNA containing the tet operator sequence the investigation of the interactions between tet operator DNA and Tet repressor protein by UV photocross-linking becomes possible. Photocross-linking of protein to DNA was demonstrated by the reduced migration of the DNA in SDS polyacrylamide gel electrophoresis. Addition of the inducer tetracycline prior to UV irradiation significantly …
