Modelling of rotations by using matrix solutions of nonlinear wave equations

A family of matrix solutions of nonlinear wave equations is extended and its application to modelling is given. It is shown that a similarity transformation, induced by the matrix solution, is equivalent to the rotation. Matrix solutions are used for modelling helical motions and vortex rings, simultaneous rotations and particles collision, mapping contraction and pulsating spheres. Geometrical interpretation of the doubling of rotation angle in each step of sequential mapping contraction is given. First Published Online: 14 Oct 2010

A Review of Biosensors for Non-Invasive Diabetes Monitoring and Screening in Human Exhaled Breath

Exhaled breath acetone has been identified as a diabetes biomarker for non-invasive diagnosis. Its detection using biosensors features has many advantages over the conventional means. This paper reviews the recent literature on the detection of exhaled breath acetone and acetone vapor of diabetic interest. The biosensors have been classified based on their transduction methods. The performance characteristics of the biosensors have been explored for comparison. The future trends are also highlighted.

Off-line ioniohjain kvadrupolimassaspektrometri systeemi. Uuden erillisen ioniohjain-kvadrupolimassaspektrometri (IGQMS) -systeemin käyttöönotto on esitetty tässä työssä. Laitteisto on kehitetty uusien tekniikoiden testaamiseen ja kehittämiseen IGISOL–laitoksella. Työssä on tutkittu laitteiston differentiaalista pumpaussysteemiä ja laitteiston etuosan kuljetustehokkuutta käyttäen 223Ra alfa-rekyylilähdettä. Painemittausten tulokset eri parametreilla ovat esitetty. Kaasuohjaimen käyttöpainealue on mitattu olevan 1 ja 700 mbar:n välillä pitäen käyttöpaineen QMS kammiossa, ja skimmer-systeemin läpäisytehokkuus olevan lähellä 100 %. Two examples related to conical energies

In a recent article we introduced and studied conical energies. We used them to prove three results: a characterization of rectifiable measures, a characterization of sets with big pieces of Lipschitz graphs, and a sufficient condition for boundedness of nice singular integral operators. In this note we give two examples related to sharpness of these results. One of them is due to Joyce and M\"{o}rters, the other is new and could be of independent interest as an example of a relatively ugly set containing big pieces of Lipschitz graphs.

The purpose of this document is to study the model belongs to the family of structural equation models with data varying both accross individuals (sectors) and in time. A complete theoretical analysis is developed in this work for the case of a recursive structure. Maximum likelihood estimation and Zellner's "seemingly unrelated equations" estimators (iterated or not) are presented and their asymptotic properties are carefully derived.The application of the estimation methods to the economy morocco produced statistically significant and economic meaningful results. Through a test of exogeneity, the recursivity of the system is confirmed. Policy recommendations are discussed and analyzed.
