Background: Drowning is a major public health issue, with risk increasing during times of flood. Driving into floodwater is a major risk factor for flood-related drowning and injury, and despite widespread public health campaigns, many people continue to undertake this risky behaviour and require rescue. En este trabajo hemos estudiado las diferentes conductas abusivas en una muestra de sujetos condenados por abuso sexual y su relación con variables de personalidad. Nuestros datos apoyan que las distintas conductas abusivas estudiadas en relación al abuso sexual de menores, se agrupan en patrones o “estilos abusivos”, que guardan relación entre sí y que permiten diferenciar unos sujetos de otros en función de las prácticas abusivas.• Nuestros resultados apoyan también que el grupo de abusadores sexuales de menores es muy heterogéneo en cuanto a características de personalidad y que, como grupo, no presenta puntuaciones elevadas en ninguna de las escalas de personalidad o psicopatología eval…
Battery- and Petrol-Powered Chainsaws: An Investigation of Productivity in Conifer Thinning

In recent years, battery technology has been greatly improved and some types of battery chainsaws are currently comparable with light-type petrol machines, suggesting their possible introduction into forest operations. In this context, the aim of this study was to test and compare the performance, in a Douglas-fir thinning, of two chainsaws similar in terms of weight and power, the Stihl MS 220 CB battery-powered saw and the Stihl MS 201 CM petrol-powered saw, measuring the working times and calculating the productivities. Kooperatīva mācīšanās kā līdzeklis 7-12 gadu vecu bērnu kapoeiras kustību iegaumēšanai

Šajā maģistra darbā autore pētīja, vai kooperatīvā mācīšanās uzlabo kapoeira horeogrāfiju atcerēšanos. Autore organizēja 9 video novērošanas sesijas 7-12 gadus veciem kapoeira audzēkņiem Capokids Capoeira Latvia organizētajās nodarbībās. Trīs bērnu grupas strādāja katrā no trim mācību organizācijas formām: indivīduāli, grupu darbs, un darbs pāros. Kopumā pētījumā piedalījās 53 bērni. Autore analizēja bērnu sasniegumus un pētīja uzvedību. Papildus uzmanība tika pievērsta bērniem ar augstu sasniegumu līmeni un bērniem ar dažādām vajadzībām. Autore secināja, ka kooperatīvā mācīšanās uzlabo capoeira horeogrāfiju, atcerēšanos un papildus nodrošina bērniem iespēju apgūt sociālās prasmes. Darba re…
