Organisational and individual resources as antecedents of older nursing professionals’ organisational commitment : Investigating the mediating effect…
2021
Aim and objectives To investigate how organisational and individual resources are linked to older (50+) nursing professionals’ organisational commitment, and to examine the possible mediating role of the active use of selection, optimisation and compensation (SOC) strategies. Background Many healthcare organisations need to find ways to retain their older nursing professionals due to nursing shortage. Design To test a set of hypotheses, cross-sectional survey data (n = 396) were used. Data were analysed using correlation analysis and partial least-squares structural equation modelling. STROBE Statement for cross-sectional studies has been followed in this study. Results The results exhibite…
The on-demand warehousing problem
2022
Warehouses are key elements of supply chain networks, and great attention is paid to increase their efficiency. Highly volatile space requirements are enablers of innovative resource sharing concepts, where warehouse capacities are traded on online platforms. In this context, our paper introduces the on-demand warehousing problem from the perspective of platform providers. The objective prioritises demand–supply matching with maximisation of the number of transactions. If there is a tie, the secondary objective maximises the number of suppliers matched with at least one customer and the number of customers that have matches within a specific threshold with respect to the minimum achievable …
Effect of voltage deviations on power distribution losses in presence of DG technology
2015
Integration of distributed generation (DG) units in power distribution network has become increasingly attractive multi-faceted paradigm as economic and environmental factors drive new technologies to be more efficient and less polluting than their earlier counterparts. The installation of DGs impacts critically on the planning and operating characteristics of the distribution network. Type, location, number and capacity of DG are essential factors for studying the effect of DGs on the system behavior. In this paper the effect of DG on the power losses of a distribution network is investigated for different types of DG units. Also, the impact of DG on the voltage profile is demonstrated bef…
Optimisation of Conditions for Extraction of Biologically Active Compounds from Common Bryophytes in Latvia / Latvijâ Augoðu Briofîtu Ekstrakcijas Ap…
2015
Abstract Bryophytes are the second largest taxonomic group in the plant kingdom. They contain a high number of biologically active compounds. Studies of their composition are important for understanding evolutionary processes in the plant kingdom. The aim of this study was to assess bryophyte secondary metabolite extraction options and to increase the yields of polyphenols and substances determining the free radical scavenging activity of bryophyte extracts. Similar studies have been conducted using higher plants as model organisms, but not using bryophytes. Comparison of five extraction methods (conventional, Soxhlet extraction, treatment with microwaves, ultrasound, and supercritical CO2 …
2010
It is not always easy to dissociate, in the settlement problems, tax and accounting, the main thing and the ac cessory. Generally, mergers are in this case, simplified mergers and universal transmissions, too. When professionals want, in this field, to optimize integrated, legal choices - tax - accounting, it is often obliged to treat the problem, without assistanc e. This autonomy look that this subject is at the crossroads of several disciplines and it is necessary to compose, without really opposing them. The field of mergers and confusion is a good synthesis of the link Law - management. The company which wishes to absorb its 100 % subsidiary can choose between simplified fusion and dis…

Time Unification on Local Binary Patterns Three Orthogonal Planes for Facial Expression Recognition
2019
International audience; Machine learning has known a tremendous growth within the last years, and lately, thanks to that, some computer vision algorithms started to access what is difficult or even impossible to perceive by the human eye. While deep learning based computer vision algorithms have made themselves more and more present in the recent years, more classical feature extraction methods, such as the ones based on Local Binary Patterns (LBP), still present a non negligible interest, especially when dealing with small datasets. Furthermore, this operator has proven to be quite useful for facial emotions and human gestures recognition in general. Micro-Expression (ME) classification is…
Multi-objective human resources allocation in R&D projects planning
2009
In a R&D department, several projects may have to be implemented simultaneously within a certain period of time by a limited number of human resources with diverse skills. This paper proposes an optimisation model for the allocation of multi-skilled human resources to R&D projects, considering individual workers as entities having different knowledge, experience and ability. The model focuses on three fundamental aspects of human resources: the different skill levels, the learning process and the social relationships existing in working teams. The resolution approach for the multi-objective problem consists of two steps: firstly, a set of non-dominated solutions is obtained by exploring the…
OPTIMAL OPERATION OF POWER-SPLIT HYBRID ELECTRIC POWERTRAIN: COMPARISON BETWEEN TWO PERFORMANCE INDICES
2022
Among all the current environmentally-friendly ground vehicles proposed to reduce fuel consumption and emissions, power-split hybrid electric vehicles represent one of the most promising solutions. Their operation is based on the cooperation of the thermal engine and the electric unit enabled by mechanical transmissions consisting of planetary and ordinary gear sets. However, implementing proper energy management strategies to realise the best powertrain operations is crucial to maximise the environmental gain without compromising performance and drivability. For this purpose, an initial comprehensive analysis of the powertrain response is required. In this respect, this paper relies on a u…
