National audience; Les Gloméromycètes, formant la symbiose mycorhizienne à arbuscules, sont des champignons biotrophes obligatoires qui sont intimement associés aux tissus végétaux qu’ils colonisent. Les techniques utilisées pour suivre l’expression des gènes fongiques dans les racines mycorhizées ne permettent pas de définir le profil spatio-temporel de leur activité. Caractérisation d'une fibre optique ultra non-linéaire en verre de chalcogénure

session orale 3 « Effets nonlinéaires » [Ma1.4], http://optiquelille2009.univ-lille1.fr/; National audience; Nous présentons les résultats expérimentaux concernant la caractérisation d'une fibre optique microstructurée en verre de chalcogénure de composition AsSe. Ces mesures concernent l'atténuation, la dispersion, l'aire effective et le coefficient non-linéaire du troisième ordre. Cette fibre présente un fort potentiel pour des applications non-linéaires avec un coefficient non-linéaire Kerr de 15 400 W-1m-1.
Ondes scélérates optiques

International audience; Nous montrons que les systèmes fibrés présentent des caractéristiques remarquables pour la génération et le contrôle d'impulsions rares et intenses similaires aux vagues scélérates océaniques. En particulier, l'amplificateur Raman faiblement dispersif pompé par une onde incohérente a permis de mettre en évidence l'apparition d'ondes scélérates optiques. Un bon accord théorie - expérience est observé.
Integration of high resolution spatial and spectral data acquisition systems for monitoring purposes in cultural heritage applications

The concern and interest of this PhD thesis is the registration of featureless 3D and multispectral datasets describing cultural heritage objects.In this context, there are few natural salient features between the complementary datasets, and the use of targets is generally proscribed.We thus develop a technique based on the photogrammetric tracking of the acquisition systems in use.A series of simulations was performed to evaluate the accuracy of our method in three configurations chosen to represent a variety of cultural heritage objects.These simulations show that we can achieve a spatial tracking accuracy of 0.020 mm and an angular accuracy of 0.100 mrad using four 5 Mpx cameras when dig…
Hyperspectral near-field imaging : development and applications to nanophotonics devices

The scanning near-field optical microscopy (SNOM) is used to analyze optical phenomena at the sub-wavelength scale such as light localization and propagation in photonic crystals or plasmonic devices. In any case, SNOM experiments rely on the positioning of a local probe in the optical near field of a given structure and on the detection of the surrounding evanescent waves. Depending on the nature of the probe or on the optical detection method, the detected physical properties are the spatial distributions of the amplitude and phase or the intensity of the electric and magnetic components of the probed field. Microfibres for nonlinear optics

In this thesis, I present my works on the fabrication, the characterization and the use of optical microfibres. Microfibres are optical fibres drawn down to sub-wavelength diameters by a temperature controlled process. Due to their small dimensions, microfibers have very special properties such as a high confinement of the electromagnetic field, a enhanced non-linear coefficient and a large evanescent tail. These properties are studied in the first chapter, after which a description of the techniques used for the drawing and manipulation of the microfibres is given. Etude des sources supercontinuum à fibres transparentes dans le moyen infrarouge

The work reported in this thesis deals with the study of the supercontinuum generation in fibers transparent in the mid-infrared. To generate a supercontinuum between 3 and 5 µm we compare different glass families such as fluoride glasses, tellurite glasses and chalcogenide glasses. These fibers are pumped with fiber lasers emitting at 2 µm with nanosecond or picosecond pulse duration. This wavelength allows us to reach the zero dispersion wavelength of the chalcogenide tapered fibers. We report supercontinuum generation up to 3800 nm in a fluoride glass fiber. This thesis deals with the work the development of an all-optical device for the control of the polarization state of light. Actually, this feature of light remains so far an uncontrolled variable, which can degrade the performances of all-optical systems.
