Authoress of the article analyses personal identity on an ethnic borderland. Personal identity among other things is an ability to answer following questions: „Who am I, Where am I from?”. Borderland is multiethnic, multicultural and multilanguage area, where defining an unit is especially difficult in the period of nationalistic conflicts. Authoress is considering personal identity on example of Óndra Łysohorsky – Czech regional poet of Silesia, who in the thirties of 20th century was declaring controversial opinion about existence of Lachian nation speaking Lachian language.

Maģistra darba mērķis ir noteikt kādas ir saistības un atšķirības ēšanas traucējumu pazīmēm attieksmē pret lieko svaru un ķermeņa tēla uztveri gaļas ēdājiem un veģetāriešiem. Pētījumā piedalījās 205 respondenti vecumā no 18-76 gadiem. Respondenti sastāv no divām izlasēm. Pirmājā ietilpst cilvēki, kuri ir gaļas ēdāji, bet otrā, cilvēki, kuri ir veģetārieši. Pētījuma izlases veidoja 127 gaļas ēdāji un 78 veģetārieši. 85 no dalībniekiem ir vīrieši un 120 ir sievietes. Pētījumā ir iekļautas trīs aptaujas. Tika izmantota aptauja par attieksmi pret ēšanu, lai mērītu ēšanas traucējumu pazīmes. Lai mērītu rezultātus attieksmē pret lieko svaru, tika izmantota anti-tukluma attieksmju, bet ķermeņa tēl…

We introduce some of the most common types of high-frequency financial data: tick-by-tick data, trade andquote data, order bookdata, andmarket member data. We describe the types of variables that are usually available in the most popular high-frequency financial databases. We discuss the issues related to the handling of these data, including cleaning protocols, timing issues, and issues related to data size. We then briefly consider the issues related to the stylized facts detected in the empirical analysis of high- frequency data. Three three-letter words in three recent novels in three different languages: God, sex and joy

In this article, the authors propose to analyse the ways in which religion and sexuality are related to one another in three recent novels: (1) Fransi Phillips�s Die donker god (2007), (2) Inga �olude�s Santa Biblia (2013) and (3) Michel Houellebecq�s Soumission [English translation: Submission] (2015). In each case, the novels are briefly placed within their respective literary cultures (Afrikaans, Latvian and French) in order to offer a contextually sensitive analysis.
