The Introduction of the “Balanced Budget” Principle into the Italian Constitution: What Perspectives for the Financial Autonomy of Regional and Local…

2013

This paper analyses the impact on regional and local authorities of Articles 117 and 119 of the Italian Constitution as amended by Constitutional Law no. 1/2012. In particular, it attempts to verify whether the new formulation of these constitutional provisions materializes the risk of a significant reduction in the financial autonomy of both Regions and Local Governments. With the constitutional reform the legislative competence of “harmonization of public account” has become an exclusive State competence, the “balanced budget” principle has been extended to Regions and local authorities and public borrowing has been broadly prohibited. What is the actual significance of the changes introd…

Körperkoordinations test für Kinder: A short form is not fully satisfactory

2022

Assessment of motor competence (MC) is crucial to finding deficiencies in children's motor development. Because of the need to ensure validity, reliability, and feasibility, the selection of contemporary testing batteries is a difficult task. Many papers report the validity of the KTK test in describing MC in school aged children. KTK consists of 4 four separate items: walking back, jumping sideways, moving sideways, and hopping for height. Some authors suggested the use of a short version of KTK that includes 3 items excluding one subtest: hopping for height. This study aimed to evaluate the effectiveness of short versions of Körperkoordinationstest für Kinder (KTK). A sample of 2,231 part…

Gross motor coordination: We have a problem! A study with the Körperkoordinations Test für Kinder in youth (6-13 Years)

2021

The main goal of our cross-sectional research was to determine the current values of gross motor coordination (GMC) of Italian boys and girls between 6 and 13 years of age. Secondary goals were to study gender differences, and the four subtests trend with ages. Results were compared with the references proposed by KTK authors and with similar searches. Anthropometric measurements and KTK data from 2,206 schoolchildren (girls: n = 1,050; boys: n = 1,156) were collected. The KTK raw score (RS) increased with the age of the subjects (r = 0.678; p < 0.001). In 11–13-year-old subjects, the increase in results is less than in younger subjects. RS showed differences by gender (F = 5.899; p …

Adopting a Dynamic Performance Governance Approach to Frame Interorganizational Value Generation Processes into a University Third Mission Setting

2022

In recent years, the literature on Higher Education policy and management emphasized an increasingly entrepreneurial role played by Universities in contributing to the socio-economic development of their regional and local areas. Besides Education and Research, this crucial role identifies a Third Mission to be fulfilled by Higher Education Institutions (HEIs), which entails social engagement, networking and collaboration with other stakeholders to generate sustainable community outcomes. This chapter introduces the use of the Dynamic Performance Governance approach to analyze the academic network value generation processes underlying Third Mission activities in Universities. The emerging f…

Comparison of sampling methods and habitat types for detecting impacts on lake littoral macroinvertebrate assemblages along a gradient of human distu…

2010

We explored environmental variables structuring littoral macroinvertebrate communities in a large lake basin along a gradient of nutrient enrichment. Furthermore, we evaluated sensitivity and cost-effi ciency of different sampling schemes (i.e. combinations of three habitat types and a number of standard sampling methods) to detect changes in macroinvertebrate communities along this anthropogenic disturbance gradient. Partial canonical ordination analysis showed that habitat characteristics accounted for a major part (56 % uniquely) of the explained variation in the species composition of invertebrate communities. When different mesohabitats were examined separately, assemblage variation of…

Modular Metal Chalcogenide Chemistry: Secondary Building Blocks as a Basis of the Silicate-Type Framework Structure of CsLiU(PS4)2

2011

The novel uranium thiophosphate CsLiU(PS4)2 has been synthesized by reacting uranium metal, Cs2S, Li2S, S, and P2S5 at 700 °C in an evacuated silica tube. The crystal structure was determined by single-crystal X-ray diffraction techniques. CsLiU(PS4)2 crystallizes in the rhombohedral space group Rc (a = 15.2797(7) A; c = 28.778(2) A, V = 5818.7(5) A3, Z = 18). The structure ofCsLiU(PS4)2 is a unique three-dimensional U(PS4)22– framework with large tunnels with an approximate diameter of 6.6 A running parallel to the crystallographic c axis. The tunnels are filled with Cs+ cations. The smaller Li+ cations are located at tetrahedral sites at the periphery of the channels. In the structure of …

Structural and dynamical properties of sodium silicate melts: An investigation by molecular dynamics computer simulation

2001

We present the results of large scale computer simulations in which we investigate the static and dynamic properties of sodium disilicate and sodium trisilicate melts. We study in detail the static properties of these systems, namely the coordination numbers, the temperature dependence of the Q^(n) species and the static structure factor, and compare them with experiments. We show that the structure is described by a partially destroyed tetrahedral SiO_4 network and the homogeneously distributed sodium atoms which are surrounded on average by 16 silicon and other sodium atoms as nearest neighbors. We compare the diffusion of the ions in the sodium silicate systems with that in pure silica a…

Reactivity of antitumor coinage metal-based N-heterocyclic carbene complexes with cysteine and selenocysteine protein sites

2021

Abstract The reaction of the antitumor M(I)-bis-N-heterocyclic carbene (M(I)-NHC) complexes, M = Cu, Ag, and Au, with their potential protein binding sites, i.e. cysteine and selenocysteine, was investigated by means of density functional theory approaches. Capped cysteine and selenocysteine were employed to better model the corresponding residues environment within peptide structures. By assuming the neutral or deprotonated form of the side chains of these amino acids and by considering the possible assistance of an external proton donor such as an adjacent acidic residue or the acidic component of the surrounding buffer environment, we devised five possible routes leading to the binding o…

Catalytic Functionalization of Methane and Light Alkanes in Supercritical Carbon Dioxide

2014

International audience; The development of catalytic methods for the effective functionalization of methane yet remains a challenge. The best system known to date is the so-called Catalytica Process based on the use of platinum catalysts to convert methane into methyl bisulfate with a TOF rate of 10−3 s. In this contribution, we report a series of silver complexes containing perfluorinated tris(indazolyl)borate ligands that catalyze the functionalization of methane into ethyl propionate upon reaction with ethyl diazoacetate (EDA) by using supercritical carbon dioxide (scCO2) as the reaction medium. The employment of this reaction medium has also allowed the functionalization of ethane, prop…
