1-Methyl-4-nitraminopyridinium nitrate and 4-nitraminopyridinium methanesulfonate

2001

In the title compounds, C6H8N3O2+*NO3- and C5H6N3O2+*-CH3SO3-, respectively, the cations are almost planar; the twist of the nitramino group about the C-N and N-N bonds does not exceed 10 degrees. The deviations from coplanarity are accounted for by intermolecular N-H...O interactions. The coplanarity of the NHNO2 group and the phenyl ring leads to the deformation of the nitramino group. The C-N-N angle and one C-C-N angle at the junction of the phenyl ring and the nitramino group are increased from 120 degrees by ca 6 degrees, whereas the other junction C-C-N angle is decreased by ca 5 degrees. Within the nitro group, the O-N-O angle is increased by ca 5 degrees and one O-N-N angle is decr…

Controlling the spatial distribution of aluminum in ZSM-5 crystals

1993

Abstract The spatial distribution of aluminum over ZSM-5 crystals was systematically studied using electron microprobing on polished crystals. Crystals synthesized with TPABr as template exhibit a pronounced enrichment of aluminum in the crystal rim, essentially irrespective of the aluminum source employed, although aluminum sources with organic anions are favoring less inhomogeneous profiles. With 1,6-hexanediol or from totally inorganic reaction gels, crystals with completely homogeneous aluminum profiles are obtained, even if the crystals grow larger than 50 μm. In the 1,6-hexanediol system the homogeneous profiles could be changed to profiles similar to the TPABr system by addition of K…

Intertissue Flow of Glutathione (GSH) as a Tumor Growth-promoting Mechanism

2011

B16 melanoma F10 (B16-F10) cells with high glutathione (GSH) content show high metastatic activity in vivo. An intertissue flow of GSH, where the liver is the main reservoir, can increase GSH content in metastatic cells and promote their growth. We have studied here possible tumor-derived molecular signals that could activate GSH release from hepatocytes. GSH efflux increases in hepatocytes isolated from mice bearing liver or lung metastases, thus suggesting a systemic mechanism. Fractionation of serum-free conditioned medium from cultured B16-F10 cells and monoclonal antibody-induced neutralization techniques facilitated identification of interleukin (IL)-6 as a tumor-derived molecule prom…
