Walking Children Through a Minefield: How Professionals Experience Exploring Adverse Childhood Experiences

Understanding the challenges of professionals in addressing child adversity is key to improving the detection, protection, and care of exposed children. We aimed to synthesize findings from qualitative studies of professionals’ lived experience of addressing child adversity. Through a systematic search, we identified eight qualitative studies and synthesized them using metaethnography. An Exploration of Organizational Assimilation Among State-Owned, Private-Owned, and Foreign-Invested Enterprises in China

This study explores organizational assimilation in Chinese organizations. To reflect the Chinese context more accurately, the present study compared employees working in three different kinds of organizations: state-owned enterprises (SOEs), private-owned enterprises (POEs), and foreign-invested enterprises (FIEs). Data collected from 220 full-time employees were analyzed using multiple regression analysis. Regression analyses demonstrated that employees’ level of organizational assimilation was significantly influenced by organizational type: Employees in SOEs reported the highest level and employees in FIEs reported the lowest level of organizational assimilation. peerReviewed

the paper intends to analyze the features of the Italian criminal law on cigarette smuggling. The domestic system faces the illicit tobacco trade in a very peculiar way, especially if compared with the criminal law of other European countries (e.g. Germany, Greece, Portugal and Spain). The Italian strict regulation (artt. 291 bis, ter, quarter T.U.D.) could appear also unreasonable if set side by side with the domestic legislation on smuggling of goods. WiMAX, as known as IEEE standard 802.16, is a wide range broadband wireless access network which has a significant good support for the quality of service. According to IEEE standard 802.16e WiMAX has support also for mobility. One of the key advantages of the WiMAX network is the possibility to assign QoS parameters as connection based. A good example of traffic type having strict QoS demands is VoIP. VoIP will probably be a killer application in the future's broadband wireless networks because of its cost efficiency compared to circuit switched networks. In this paper, we analyze by extensive simulations how QoS is applied per connection, especially for the VoIP connection.
