Applying systematic review search methods to the grey literature: a review of education and training courses on breastfeeding support for health prof…

2021

Abstract Background Currently, lactation training courses aimed at health professionals are important for informing and supporting mothers who are breastfeeding. In this review, we seek to analyze similarities and/or variations in course content, modes of delivery, costs, teaching style and learning strategies among courses. To our knowledge, a review of lactation training courses available worldwide is lacking. Thus, the aim of this review is to describe course models aimed at training health professionals in lactation support for mothers. Methods Through searching grey literature, training courses were obtained from several directories, including the Alaska Breastfeeding Coalition, Intern…

Sustainability and Teaching in Higher Technological Education

2015

In this chapter, Sustainability and Teaching in Higher Technological Education, Tom V. Nilsen argues for technological education that sees technology in a holistic perspective. The chapter starts with World Commission on Environment and Development (Report of the world commission on environment and development: Our common future, 1987, New York, NY: United Nations) and moves on to engineering education. It is recognised that the implications for universities are radical. The idea of the Honest Broker is presented. Via Giddens and Habermas, and systems thinking, there are links to other disciplines which are discussed in other chapters.

Ethical Challenges of Hybrid Editors

2016

In times of turbulence in the media industry, media organizations are looking for new business models. Digitalization has led traditional news media organizations to testing new forms of advertisement, such as sponsored content and native advertising, whereas others, such as lifestyle magazines, have a longer history in collaborating with brands. Editors are key players in these developments, since they are journalist–managers and decision makers within those daily practices that shape policies and influence new product innovation and development. In this study, we examine from the editors’ point of view, how they see the process of adopting novel forms of advertisement and what ethical cha…

Managing Organizational Growth and Dynamic Complexity

2016

Managers, entrepreneurs and administrators are often reluctant to invest time in order to frame the future of their own organization. They may look too much focused on reducing the complexity of current management. The vision of the future they create in their own minds may remain unchanged even for many years, or may incrementally and ambiguously change, with no effort on learning, on perceiving the early symptoms of crises, and assessing the sustainability of organizational growth rate.

Information Infrastructures for eHealth

2017

This chapter provides an introductory overview of healthcare information systems, followed by a more detailed discussion on two types of core components in a public eHealth infrastructure: e-prescription solutions and governmental patient-oriented platforms. E-prescription solutions support the electronic flow of information for prescribed medications between prescribers, pharmacies and insurers that handle related payments. E-prescription solutions aim for cost containment, enhancement of patient safety, control over doctors’ prescription patterns and process quality assurance. Governmental platforms for patient- or citizen-oriented eHealth services typically offer patients access to gener…

2015

Economic costs associated with acute attacks and long-term management of hereditary angioedema.

2010

Background Hereditary angioedema (HAE) is a rare autosomal dominant disorder characterized by recurrent acute attacks of swelling of the larynx, abdomen, and periphery. Objective To assess the economic burden associated with acute attacks and long-term management of HAE. A standardized instrument, the Work Productivity and Activity Impairment questionnaire, was included to assess impact on work productivity. Standard medical costs and US average wage costs were assigned…
