Ce travail traite des revers incus présents sur les émissions archaïques d’Emporion. Après une période utilisant plusieurs types de revers, l’atelier créa à la fin de sa phase A archaïque (vers 500 av. J.-C.) un très caractéristique revers-type : une croix perlée à l’intérieur d’un carré creux à quatre languettes. This paper deals with the archaic incuse reverses on coins minted by Emporion. After a period using several reverse types, at the end of the archaic phase A (ca. 500 BC) the mint created the most characteristic incuse square: a dotted cross inside an incuse square with four square knobs.

This chapter focuses on the immunomodulatory properties of placental mesenchymal stromal cells (MSCs) derived from the amniotic membrane, umbilical cord, and chorionic villi. Within the amniotic membrane (AM), we discuss the immunomodulatory properties of the two main cell populations that can be isolated from AM: human amniotic mesenchymal stromal cells (hAMSCs) and human amniotic epithelial cells (hAECs). Ovarian hyperstimulation syndrome (OHSS) occurs when ovaries primed with follicle-stimulating hormone/leuteinizing hormone (LH) are subsequently exposed to human chorionic gonadotropin (hCG). The ultimate pathophysiological step underlying this clinical picture is increased vascular permeability (VP). With the administration of hCG, the expression vascular endothelial growth factor (VEGF) and VEGF receptor 2 (VEGFR-2) mRNA increases significantly rising to a maximum coinciding with peaked VP. Immunohistochemistry shows the presence of VEGF and VEGFR-2 proteins in the granulosa-lutein and endothelial cells of the entire corpus luteum. Scanning electron microscopy revealed that-as is common in this family of the Hemiptera-the eggs of the green stink bug Acrosternum (Chinavia) marginatum are roughly barrel-shaped and possess at their apical pole a row of slender extensions, the aero-micropylar processes. The outer surface of the eggshell carries hexagonally arranged pits. The analysis of cross-fractured eggshells showed that the pits have slender basal extensions with transverse diaphragms. When scanning electron micrographs of the egg surface of A. marginatum are viewed upside down, the perception flips and the pits appear as elevations to all observers addressed. This study aims to determine in the mouse whether oocytes from reproductively old females exhibit a different susceptibility to be parthenogenetically activated when compared to oocytes from young females. At the age of 10–12 (young-female group) or 60–62 (old-female group) weeks, hybrid female mice were superovulated using pregnant mare's serum gonadotropin (PMSG) followed by human chorionic gonadotropin (hCG) 48 hr later. It is not unusual that, after an apparently uneventful pregnancy and birth, postpartal analysis of fetal blood unexpectedly reveals the presence of peripartal acidosis, a finding that is inexplicable on the basis of routine observation of the placenta. Background/objectives: Aquaporins (AQPs) are a family of proteins (AQP0-12) ubiquitously expressed acting as cell membrane water channels. AQP 1/3/8/9 expression has been found in human placenta and fetal membranes; however, AQP4 is the only identified in first trimester fetal tissue samples. We aimed to determine AQP mRNA expression in first trimester of pregnancy and compare it to the expression in placenta at delivery.
