Perinnebiotoopit ovat perinteisen karjatalouden synnyttämiä monimuotoisia niittyjä ja puustoisia luonnonlaitumia, joita ylläpitää niitto tai laidunnus. Perinnebiotooppien määrä on vähentynyt rajusti maatalouden tehostumisen myötä. Merkittävin uhanalaistumisen syy on perinnebiotooppien umpeenkasvu laidunnuksen ja niiton loputtua, mutta myös pellonraivaus ja metsittäminen ovat hävittäneet perinnebiotooppeja runsaasti. Influence of torrefaction pretreatment on the pyrolysis of Eucalyptus clone: A study on kinetics, reaction mechanism and heat flow

Abstract The adverse nature of biomass requires specific pretreatment processes to better utilize it in bioenergy applications, and torrefaction is one of the most recognized thermal pretreatment methods. In this regard, we studied the effect of torrefaction pretreatment on kinetics, reaction mechanism and heat flow during the pyrolysis of biomass by making a comparative analysis between the pyrolysis of dried and torrefied Eucalyptus wood. In order to estimate vegetation photosynthesis from remote sensing observations; some critical parameters need to be quantified. From all absorbed light; the plant needs to release any excess that is not used for photosynthesis; by non-photochemical quenching; by fluorescence emission and unregulated thermal dissipation. Ferulago nodosa Subsp. geniculata (Guss.) Troia & Raimondo from Sicily (Italy): Isolation of Essential Oil and Evaluation of Its Bioactivity

Ferulago nodosa (L.) Boiss. (Apiaceae) is a species occurring in the Balkan-Tyrrhenian area. The object of the present study is Sicilian F. nodosa subsp. geniculata (Guss.) Troia & Raimondo, classified as an endemic F. nodosa subspecies. Aerial parts of this plant species were subjected to hydrodistillation to obtain an essential oil. A total of 93 compounds were identified with 2,3,6-trimethyl benzaldehyde (19.0%), spathulenol (9.0%), (E)-caryophyllene (5.4%), and caryophyllene oxide (5.4%) as the main components. Przedmiotem niniejszego opracowania jest parafialny ogród botaniczny znajdujący się w jednej z miejscowości w województwie śląskim - Bujakowie (dzielnicy Mikołowa). Ogród o powierzchni 1 ha powstał w latach 70. XX wieku. Pomysłodawcą jego założenia był proboszcz miejscowego kościoła pw. św. Mikołaja. Bezpośrednio z funkcjonowaniem ogrodu związane jest ustanowienie w 2000 roku w Bujakowie sanktuarium Matki Bożej Bujakowskiej - patronki środowiska naturalnego. Dla mieszkańców miejscowości i okolic ogród pełni ważne funkcje (rekreacyjną, edukacyjną, ludyczną, kulturotwórczą), jest również rozpoznawalnym miejscem w turystyce przyrodniczej na obszarze województwa śląskiego.
