Tämä tutkielma analysoi englantilaisen satukirjailijan Beatrix Potterin satutuotannosta kahdeksan satua. Sadut kuluvat taidesatujen genreen ja niiden allegoria toimii niin, että niissä eläimet toimivat ihmisen naamioina. Satujen allegorian takaa löytyy satiiria, jonka keskeiset teemat ovat yhteiskunnallinen eriarvoisuus, erityisesti viktoriaaninen sääty-yhteiskunta, perheen ja äidin valta, sekä naisen roolit viktoriaanisessa yhteiskunnassa. Lisäksi satujen keskeisenä teemana on vapauden kaipuu.

Abstract Manufacture technology involves several aspects of pottery making, such as the type and the atmosphere of firing to obtain the finished item. During the firing of clay, at different environment of the oven, different compounds of iron (Fe(II) and Fe(III)) are formed and this is the reason for a different color of the ceramic body. In this chapter we give a brief overview of neutron based analytical investigations applied to study archaeological ceramics, and different types of stones. Since the vast majority of archaeological objects are made of ceramics and various stones—all are of geological origin—, one of the key objectives of these studies to determine the origin of raw material. This research is called provenance research, and a wide range of neutron based methods are applicable in it. Motivos decorativos monetales sobre dos fragmentos de sigillata hispánica de la ciudad romana de "Los Bañales" (Uncastillo, Zaragoza)

Este estudio presenta dos nuevos fragmentos de sigillata hispánica con motivo monetal de Marco Aurelio procedentes de la ciudad romana de Los Bañales de Uncastillo (Zaragoza), en el corazón del territorio de los antiguos Vascones. Las piezas son contextualizadas, además, en el repertorio del recurso de las producciones hispánicas de Tricio –primero en época flavia y después, aparente y esporádicamente, durante el siglo II d. C.– a los motivos decorativos de raigambre numismática. Se ofrece, así mismo, una lectura interpretativa del recurso a este tipo de improntas en la producción de sigillata hispánica en los primeros años del reinado conjunto de Marco Aurelio y de Lucio Vero.

Le ceramiche attiche a figure nere dallo scarico di Grotta Vanella a Segesta: primi dati da una revisione

Questo articolo esamina i frammenti di vasi attici a figure nere della cosiddetta Grotta Vanella deposito a Segesta, costituito da materiali scaricati dalla cima del Monte Barbaro, a nord Acropoli. Vengono indicate le forme, vengono esaminati i temi e le funzioni figurative delle navi e la distribuzione di alcuni tipi e classi di vasi in diverse fasi cronologiche. In assenza di dati stratigrafici, i dating sono stati stabiliti sulla base dell'attribuzione dei frammenti ai workshop o gruppi di pittori noti e, quando possibile, confrontati con reperti provenienti da contesti archeologici piuttosto datato. Vasi attici a figure rosse da Segesta: i materiali dello scarico di Grotta Vanella

Lo studio si propone di fornire un quadro di riferimento delle importazioni di vasi figurati attici a Segesta, analizzando artisti, forme e iconografia di questa produzione. I frammenti di vasi attici a figure rosse provengono dal cosiddetto deposito della Grotta Vanella a Segesta, che consiste di materiali scaricati dalla cima del Monte Barbaro, l'Acropoli del Nord. L'esame dei reperti ceramici ha mostrato una buona varietà di tipologie formali e la prevalenza di specifiche categorie funzionali dedicate al consumo di vino, che si riflette in altre classi ceramiche.
