Ozone therapy can be considered as an integrative therapy in oncology? [abstract]
2019
BACKGROUND: Our group in Policlinic Umberto I - University Hospital of Sapienza Rome - has decided to further investigate if Ozone therapy can be of support in oncology.
In literature it has been reported that ozone applications in oncology or in cancer cells is associated with: high efficiency in preventing chemotherapy complications (nausea, vomiting, opportunistic infections, asthenia) as well as confining or restricting the expansion of tumours.(1-5)

PURPOSE: The aim of our study in to evaluate and eventually confirm the validity of ozone treatments in order to consider such procedures as a possible and concrete support therapy for oncology patients undertaking chemot…
Ozone therapy in idiopathic carpal tunnel syndrome. Biochemical, neurophysiological and clinical aspects
2018
Purpose.
Idiopathic Carpal Tunnel Syndrome (CTS) is the most common entrapment neuropathy; however few and only retrospective studies have been found in search engines about Ozone Therapy.
The aim of this paper was to evaluate clinical and neurophysiological outcome following Ozone Therapy in CTS.
We focused the attention on the evidences concerning the role of Subsynovial Connective Tissue (SSCT) in the pathogenesis of CTS and the ozone pre-conditioning effects linked to pain and inflammatory pathways and to fibrosis induced by Ischemia-Reperfusion Injury.

 Materials and methods.
Thirty-five patients, aged between 21 and 80, were stratified clinically b…
OZONE THERAPY: MECHANISMS OF ACTION, RECENT LITERATURE AND NEWLY DISCOVERED BIOCHEMICAL PATHWAYS
2018
Ozone therapy is widely used in many countries since many years. Recently, the increasing widespread of this complementary therapy has been accomplished by an increased number of basic and clinic papers published on international journals. This lecture will deal on the first approach by a pharmacological point of view in the aim to characterize the mechanisms activated at sub-cellular level by ozone when used for medical and beauty application at low graded doses. The first theory was based upon the fact that the exposure to low, non-toxic, ozone concentrations could increase the efficacy of the endogenous antioxidant system by increasing the production or the activity of some enzymes exert…
Importance of the toxicological tests in the application and safety of ozone therapy
2018
Until today, there is not any official registry of the different routes of systemic ozone therapy. With the aim to prove the safety of this therapy, several ways of ozone (O3) applications were evaluated, such as rectal insufflation (RI), major autohemotherapy (M-AHT) and intraperitoneal application (IP). For RI, some toxicological tests were performed such as: acute, sub-chronic, mutagenic (bone marrow chromosomic aberrations and micronucleus), teratogenic and irritation studies (at 40 mg/L and 10 mL during 15 days). For M-AHT, acute toxicological (in rats with 21, 47 and 64 mg/L and a volume of 2 mL with daily evaluation up to 15 days) and mutagenic (chromosomal aberration analysis, micr…
Clinical Study of Patients with Heart Failure under treatment with Ozone Therapy.
2018
Heart failure (HF) is framed in one of the types of cardiovascular diseases; it consists of an acute and chronic form. The disease can evolve slowly from asymptomatic left ventricular dysfunction, to a state of severe disability, presenting a wide prevalence in the population around 10% in people over 70 years old. More than three-quarters of the deaths from this pathology normally occur in low or middle-income countries. Angola is not exempt from this health problem be observed in a relatively young people, bringing disability and death at an early stage of life. Scientific advances and innovative treatments for the control and prevention of the disease continue to be insufficient.

Conservative Surgical Management of Stage I Bisphosphonate-Related Osteonecrosis of the Jaw
2014
Purpose. To report the efficacy of conservative surgical treatment for stage I bisphosphonate-related osteonecrosis of the jaw (BRONJ).Materials and Methods. This study reports the clinical outcomes of 63 patients treated for BRONJ stage I (according to Ruggiero's staging system) at the Oral Pathology and Laser-Assisted Surgery Unit of the University of Parma between January 2004 and January 2011. Surgical interventions were performed, under local analgesia, in patients unresponsive for a period of six months to noninvasive treatments such as cycles of local or systemic antibacterial therapy combined or not to low level laser therapy, ozone therapy, or Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy. All interve…
Response of patients with chronic Hepatitis B in one year of treatment with Major Autohemotherapy.
2018
The Hepatitis B (HVB) is one of the most common infectious diseases in the world, it’s wide geographical distribution is a health problem, especially on the African continent, with prevalence rate of 6.1% in the adult population. Current treatment requires prolonged therapy (most cases for the rest of life) with the aim of stopping viral replication, maintaining immunological stability, preventing progression of liver disease and the most feared complications such as cirrhosis and hepatic cancer
There are multiple references that point to ozone therapy as an alternative in the treatment of Hepatitis B, because of the known and demonstrated antimicrobial and immunomodulatory properties…

Systemic Review: Ozone: A Potential New Chemotherapy
2021
In the last sixty years, publications in reputed journals have shown the preclinical positive effect of ozone gas in cancer cells. However, the translation of these results into clinical practice is far away from success. A comprehensive approach is necessary for this, and oncologists and researchers need guidance from medical specialists with in-depth knowledge of ozone in medicine. In this article, we review the evidence around this question and suggest different potential research lines to those interested in this exciting field.
The immune response behavior in HIV-AIDS patients treated with ozone therapy for two years
2018
HIV continues to be one of the biggest problems for the global public health. The African region is one of the most affected, accounting for almost two thirds of the new infections. Many of them are retroviral medications and multi-therapies aiming to stop the viral replication and maintaining immunological stability, which fail to guarantee the quality of life or enhance the patient's immunity
Ozone has biological properties, among which the antimicrobial and modulatory effect on the immune response is highlighted, which makes it possible to use it in a complementary way for the treatment of these patients.
We conducted the present study in which the effect of the ozone therapy…
