Amazonian tropical forests play a significant role in global water, carbon and energy cycles. Considering the relevance of this biome and the climate change projections which predict a hotter and drier climate for the region, the monitoring of the vegetation status of these forests becomes of significant importance. In this context, vegetation temperature and evapotranspiration (ET) can be considered as key variables. Vegetation temperature is directly linked with plant physiology. The erosion of tungsten (W), induced by the bombardment of plasma and impurity particles, determines the lifetime of plasma-facing components as well as impacting on plasma performance by the influx of W into the confined region. The screening of W by the divertor and the transport of W in the plasma determines largely the W content in the plasma core, but the W source strength itself has a vital impact on this process. Al di là di un difficile e forse non opportuno intervento del legislatore, la Corte di Cassazione ne ha disegnato i caratteri nel noto caso Englaro, avvicinandosi alla soluzione prospettata dal giudice tedesco in un caso simile, giudice che, diversamente, ha potuto fondare la sua decisione oltre che sul principio costituzionale della tutela della dignità umana, sulla legislazione vigente.
