Ge-doping dependence of gamma-ray induced germanium lone pair centers in Ge-doped silica

We report an experimental study on the y irradiation effects in Ge-doped sol-gel silica samples doped with Ge from 10 2 up to 10 4 part per million molar. The samples were exposed to the radiation generated by a 60 Co source up to an accumulated dose value of 10 MGy. Our data evidence that the γ irradiation significantly increases the number of Germanium Lone Pair Centers (GLPC). Such defects are induced with a concentration that depends on the Ge content of the employed material in those samples where no optical activity related to -s GLPC was detected before irradiation. The genus Clinopodium L. (Lamiaceae) is known for its medical uses in folk medicine and as a spice in Italian food. Recently, several taxa previously assigned to Satureja L. and Calamintha Mill. have been transferred to this genus (1). Pharmacological studies reveal, for instance, that Calamintha nepeta (L.) Per studiare dal punto di vista della geografia culturale alcuni aspetti del pellegrinaggio a Santiago de Compostela, in Spagna, il capitolo prende in considerazione un testo letterario, il romanzo autobiografico "La ballata dei pellegrini" della scrittrice francese Edith De La Héronnière, pubblicato per la prima volta nel 1993 e tradotto in italiano nel 2004. Il romanzo racconta l’esperienza del pellegrinaggio giacobeo effettuato dall’autrice negli anni Novanta assieme a tre compagni di viaggio partendo da un cammino francese. The contribution critically and from a geographical perspective discusses the connection between propaganda comics and cartoons in the period of twentieth-century totalitarianisms. The way in which space real and symbolic is implicated through the rhetoric and dialectics of power in social economic and identity dynamics is then explored. In order to study some aspects of the pilgrimage to Santiago de Compostela from the point of view of cultural geography in Spain the chapter takes into consideration a literary text the autobiographical novel "The pilgrims' ballad" by the French writer Edith De La Héronnière first published in 1993 and translated into Italian in 2004. The novel recounts the experience of the Jacobean pilgrimage carried out by the author in the nineties together with three traveling companions starting from a French journey. In particular through the analysis of some parts of the text the ways in which the narration constructs and describes the physical and symbolic space of the pilgrimage are investigated. In this way it is possible to explore the way in which peculiar attributions of meaning inscribe the experience of pilgrimage in a symbolic universe that is both personal and collective at the same time.

En aquest article d'orientació geolingüística i diacrònica, basat fonamentalment en dades de l'Atles lingüístic del domini català (ALDC) i del Corpus Informatitzat del Català Antic (CICA), s'analitzen més de vuitanta denominacions catalanes del crepuscle. D'una banda, se'n proporciona una doble classificació per criteris morfosintàctics, primerament, i motivacionals, després. De l'altra, se n'estudia la distribució geogràfica actual per lexemes, que s'ofereix cartografiada, i quan és possible, es ressegueixen les traces històriques de les diverses denominacions.

Earth resistance measurements in urban contexts: Problems and possible solutions

Both EN 50522 and IEEE Std. 81 propose the Fall of Potential Method (FPM) to carry out the measurement of the resistance to earth of an Earthing System (ES). However, in urban areas, the recommended distances between the ES and auxiliary electrodes are not easy to respect, due to the presence of buildings and tarmac.
