Purpose - This paper aims to identify the parameters that influence the cost competitiveness of helicopter services for scheduled passenger transport on a regional area. Design/methodology/approach - The approach used is based on an analysis of demand and on a bi-level model (modal split model - service supply optimization model) optimization. Performance optimization in the supply of helicopter transport services is obtained by a sensitivity analysis on the recognized cost factors. Si illustrano e si discutono i risultati di una prova di carico a rottura eseguita su un setto in vera grandezza realizzato in terreni sabbiosi. Il comportamento del sistema setto-terreni è fortemente non lineare a partire da valori del carico applicato dell’ordine di 1000 kN. Il carico orizzontale limite si raggiunge per valori dello spostamento in corrispondenza della testa del setto dell’ordine dei 10 cm, ed è principalmente governato dalla resistenza flessionale della sezione trasversale del setto.

The use of quality indicators is crucial in selling plums in more distant markets and the evaluation of freshness through multiple index is fundamental to evaluate the goodness of the storage technique. In this study we evaluated the quality of two european plums cultivars ('Ramasin' and 'Ariddo di Core' with purple and yellow flesh colour respectively) after modified atmosphere packaging (MAP) storage, through the selection of the most appropriate indicators. This short note reports the curious breeding, in terms of nest features, of several Sparrows mainly showing the phenotype of the Spanish Sparrow or Passer prope hispaniolensis, though, few males exhibited less barred flanks as for the Passer italiae. This is in agre- ement with the ambiguous taxonomy of Sparrows of Sicily that is emerged over the past 150 years. As matter of fact, the taxonomic classification of the Sicilian sparrow spans from Passer hispaniolen- sis to Passer italiae and includes hybrid species in between. The University of Palermo joins since few years the Compasso Volante Competition, that is still keeping, in different ways, its original spirit. The city of Palermo has represented in two different Editions the project site and, last year, Palermo hosted for the second time the Award Ceremony. Palermo has been made available to the awarding of the XV Edition, thanks to the enthusiasm and pleasure that students and professors have shown in the past.
