Tämän pro gradu -tutkielman kirjallisessa osassa käsitellään Passerini- ja Ugi-reaktioita luonnonainesynteesin näkökulmasta. Lisäksi kirjallisessa osuudessa esitellään luonnonainesynteesejä joissa näitä multikomponenttireaktioita on hyödynnetty. Kirjallisen osan ensimmäinen puolisko alkaa lyhyellä johdannolla jossa esitellään luonnonainesynteesiä ja multikomponenttireaktioita yleisemmin. Tästä jatketaan Passerini- ja Ugi-reaktioihin ja niiden erityispiirteisiin. Līdzjūtības pret sevi un prosociālas uzvedības saistība un dzimumu atšķirības

Pētījuma mērķis bija noskaidrot, vai pastāv saistība starp līdzjūtību pret sevi un prosociālu uzvedību, un pārbaudīt dzimumu atšķirības katrā no šiem konstruktiem. Pētījumā piedalījās 115 respondenti vecumā no 18 līdz 30 gadiem, kuri veidoja 2 grupas – vīriešus un sievietes. Viņi internetā vai klātienē aizpildīja anketu, kas sastāvēja no Iejūtības pret sevi skalas un Prosociālo tendenču aptaujas, kā arī jautājumiem demogrāfisko datu ievākšanai. Rezultāti atklāj statistiski nozīmīgu negatīvu saistību starp līdzjūtību pret sevi un emocionālu prosociālu uzvedību. Pētījuma izlasē vīriešiem bija augstāks līdzjūtības pret sevi līmenis nekā sievietēm, savukārt sievietes vairāk nekā vīrieši norādīj…

This dissertation considers numerical methods for wave propagation modelling and noise control. The first part of the dissertation discusses an efficient method for solving time-harmonic wave equations in acoustic (the Helmholtz equation) and elastic domains (the Navier equation). The solver is based on preconditioning a Krylov subspace method, such as GMRES, with approximations of damped variants of the corresponding wave equations. A method to find optimal locations and properties of anti-noise actuators in local noise control system is considered. The local noise control performance is approximated by a finite element method based approach, that attempts to estimate the average performance of optimal active noise control (ANC) system. The local noise control uses a fixed number of circular actuators that are located on the boundary of a three-dimensional enclosed acoustic space. Actuator signals are used to minimize the known harmonic noise at specified locations. The average noise reduction is maximized at two frequency ranges by adjusting the anti-noise actuator configuration, which is a non-linear multi-objective …

Pharmaceuticals in processing of municipal sewage sludge studied by grab and passive sampling

Abstract Concentrations of pharmaceuticals, consisting of four anti-inflammatory and one antiepileptic drug, were studied in the aqueous and solid phase of municipal sewage sludge, collected from a wastewater treatment plant (WWTP) in central Finland. The samples included untreated municipal sludge from the biological wastewater treatment, digested sludge and sludge before and after composting. First, samples were taken as grab samples to study the bioavailable part in aqueous phase but also the part in solid fraction.
