Celem niniejszego artykułu jest ukazanie struktury źródeł finansowania wydatków studentów pobierających naukę na poziomie wyższym (studia) w Opolu. Prezentowany materiał stanowi efekt kilkuletnich badań empirycznych, które wykonano we wszystkich uczelniach wyższych prowadzących działalność edukacyjną w Opolu, mającym status regionalnego ośrodka akademickiego. Próba do badań została ustalona w sposób kwotowy, zaś same badania przeprowadzono na dobranej próbie 1075 osób, będących w czasie badań studentami opolskich uczelni wyższych. AbstractIn the present study, the chemical composition of the essential oils from aerial parts of Centaurea grinensis Reuter (K) collected at Žuta Lova, near Senj (Croatia), and aerial parts (L1) and flowers (L2) of C. apiculata Ledeb. collected near Rebro village, near Breznik town, Znepole Region (Bulgaria), both belonging to subgenus Lopholoma (Cass.) Dobrocz, was evaluated by GC and GC-MS. The main components of K were 4-vinyl guaiacol (21.5%), hexadecanoic acid (16.2%), acetophenone (12.5%). Caryophyllene oxide (15.8%) together with sphathulenol (14.5%) and humulene epoxide II (9.4%) were recognized as the main constituent of both the aerial part (L1) and flowers (L2) of C. apiculata. …

Combining PCA and multiset CCA for dimension reduction when group ICA is applied to decompose naturalistic fMRI data

An extension of group independent component analysis (GICA) is introduced, where multi-set canonical correlation analysis (MCCA) is combined with principal component analysis (PCA) for three-stage dimension reduction. The method is applied on naturalistic functional MRI (fMRI) images acquired during task-free continuous music listening experiment, and the results are compared with the outcome of the conventional GICA. The extended GICA resulted slightly faster ICA convergence and, more interestingly, extracted more stimulus-related components than its conventional counterpart. Grazing intensity in subarctic tundra affects the temperature adaptation of soil microbial communities

Abstract Grazing by large ungulates, such as reindeer (Rangifer tarandus L.), in subarctic tundra exerts a considerable effect on the soil microclimate. Because of higher insulation by the aboveground vegetation in light versus heavily grazed areas, soil temperatures during the growing season are considerably higher under heavy grazing. Here, we hypothesized that these grazer-induced changes in soil microclimate affect the temperature sensitivity of soil microbial activity.
