Nestriktas klasterizācijas metodes un to salīdzināšana

Šis darbs ir veltīts piecām klasterizācijas metodēm: K-vidējo klasterizācijas algoritms, C-vidējo nestriktas klasterizācijas algoritms, iespējamību C-vidējo klasterizācijas algoritms, nestrikto iespējamību C-vidējo klasterizācijas algoritms un iespējamību C-vidējo nestriktas klasterizācijas algoritms. Darbs satur šo algoritmu aprakstu un salīdzināšanu, ņemot par pamatu datu klasterizācijas rezultātus. Ir aprakstīta pieeja iespējamību nestriktas klasterizācijas algoritma vispārinājumam.
Polarization Modulation Instability in Dispersion-Engineered Photonic Crystal Fibers

Generation of widely spaced polarization modulation instability (PMI) sidebands in a wide collection of photonic crystal fibers (PCF), including liquid-filled PCFs, is reported. The contribution of chromatic dispersion and birefringence to the net linear phase mismatch of PMI is investigated in all-normal dispersion PCFs and in PCFs with one (or two) zero dispersion wavelengths. Large frequency shift sidebands are demonstrated experimentally. Suitable fabrication parameters for air-filled and liquid-filled PCFs are proposed as guidelines for the development of dual-wavelength light sources based on PMI.

During the last decade, application of molecular methods using cultivation-independent approaches has provided new insights into the composition and structure of denitrifying communities in various environments. Indigenous yeast communities in the environment of ‘‘Rovello bianco’’ grape variety and their use in commercial white wine fermentation

The indigenous yeast communities associated with several vineyard habitats were analysed. Wild yeasts were isolated, differentiated at strain level and identified. A phylogenetic tree based on partial 26S rRNA genes was constructed. The strains were characterized and the indigenous Saccharomyces cerevisiae GR1 was then used to carry out a vinification process and compared with a commercial yeast. Wines obtained were subjected to chemical and sensory analysis. The comparison between the two products highlighted differences due to the fer- menting strains employed. GekkoFS - A Temporary Distributed File System for HPC Applications

We present GekkoFS, a temporary, highly-scalable burst buffer file system which has been specifically optimized for new access patterns of data-intensive High-Performance Computing (HPC) applications. The file system provides relaxed POSIX semantics, only offering features which are actually required by most (not all) applications. It is able to provide scalable I/O performance and reaches millions of metadata operations already for a small number of nodes, significantly outperforming the capabilities of general-purpose parallel file systems. New challenges to file systems' metadata performance are imposed by the continuously growing number of files existing in file systems. The total amount of metadata can become too big to be cached, potentially leading to multiple storage device accesses for a single metadata lookup operation.
