Shape identification in inverse medium scattering problems with a single far-field pattern

Consider time-harmonic acoustic scattering from a bounded penetrable obstacle $D\subset {\mathbb R}^N$ embedded in a homogeneous background medium. The index of refraction characterizing the material inside $D$ is supposed to be Holder continuous near the corners. If $D\subset {\mathbb R}^2$ is a convex polygon, we prove that its shape and location can be uniquely determined by the far-field pattern incited by a single incident wave at a fixed frequency. In dimensions $N \geq 3$, the uniqueness applies to penetrable scatterers of rectangular type with additional assumptions on the smoothness of the contrast. Existence of two solutions for singular Φ-Laplacian problems

AbstractExistence of two solutions to a parametric singular quasi-linear elliptic problem is proved. The equation is driven by theΦ\Phi-Laplacian operator, and the reaction term can be nonmonotone. The main tools employed are the local minimum theorem and the Mountain pass theorem, together with the truncation technique. GlobalC1,τ{C}^{1,\tau }regularity of solutions is also investigated, chiefly viaa prioriestimates and perturbation techniques.
Fragment‐ and Negative Image‐Based Screening of Phosphodiesterase 10A Inhibitors

A novel virtual screening methodology called fragment‐ and negative image‐based (F‐NiB) screening is introduced and tested experimentally using phosphodiesterase 10A (PDE10A) as a case study. Potent PDE10A‐specific small‐molecule inhibitors are actively sought after for their antipsychotic and neuroprotective effects. The F‐NiB combines features from both fragment‐based drug discovery and negative image‐based (NIB) screening methodologies to facilitate rational drug discovery. Individuals with Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD) experience sleep disturbances due to the impact of respiratory symptoms on sleep quality. We explored whether sleep disturbances in COPD are linked to heterogeneity of airway constriction.The impact of breathing problems on sleep quality was measured in consecutive COPD outpatients with the COPD and Asthma Sleep Impact Scale (CASIS) questionnaire. Impulse oscillometry technique (IOS) was employed to assess heterogeneity of airway constriction. Šī tēma ir aktuāla, jo šis nodoklis skar katru personu, kas iesaistīta darba tirgū, un, to maksājot, persona sociālo risku gadījumos var atgūt daļēju zaudēto ienākumu kompensāciju. Darbu veido trīs nodaļas ar apakšnodaļām, autora izteiktie secinājumi un priekšlikumi. Starpgrupu atšķirību izcelšanas ietekme uz attieksmi pret homoseksualitāti grupas unikalitātes draudu kontekstā

Eksperimentālā pētījuma mērķis bija noskaidrot, vai ir iespējams ietekmēt heteroseksuālu vīriešu un sieviešu attieksmi pret homoseksualitāti situācijā, kurā tiek apdraudēta grupas unikalitāte, izmantojot psiholoģisko atšķirību izcelšanu starp grupām. Kā arī noskaidrot, vai šo saistību moderē individuālās atšķirības identificēšanās ar dzimuma grupu izteiktībā un sociālā dzimuma prototipa šaurumā. Tika veiktas regresiju analīzes ar datiem no 55 heteroseksuāliem vīriešiem (pirmā eksperimentālā grupa n=23, otrā eksperimentālā grupa n=32) un 151 heteroseksuālas sievietes (pirmā eksperimentālā grupa n=76, otrā eksperimentālā grupa n=75).
