Personal use of technology at work : a literature review and a theoretical model for understanding how it affects employee job performance

Employee personal use of technology at work (PUTW)—defined as employees’ activities using organisational or personal IT resources for non-work-related purposes while at work—is increasingly common in organisations. Our review of existing PUTW studies (n = 137) suggests that previous studies widely discussed PUTW outcomes, antecedents, and policies. The literature review also indicates that previous studies have proposed opposing viewpoints regarding the effect of PUTW on employee job performance, but few studies offered empirical evidence. Playful approaches to news engagement

From crossword puzzles and quizzes to more complex gamification strategies and serious newsgames, legacy media has long explored ways to deploy playful approaches to deliver their content and engage with the audience. We examine how news and games fit together when news organizations, game creators and news audiences welcome gameful forms of communication and participation. Moreover, we reflect on the theoretical and empirical significance of merging news with games as a way to reformulate normative assumptions, production practices and consumption patterns. As a result, the boundaries between journalism and game’s logics start to erode, and they begin to find new ways of converging.

Suņu (Canis Familiaris) personalitāšu noteikšana stresa reaktivitātes un rīcības stila dimensijās

Suņu uzvedībā ir vērojamas atkārtojamas individuālas variācijas, ko dēvē par dzīvnieku personalitāti. Darba mērķis ir pielietot izstrādātu pētījumu modeli, lai pierādītu personalitāšu esamību un individuālo variāciju pētījumā izvēlētās sugas – suņu indivīdiem, balstoties uz fizioloģiskām un uzvedības izmaiņām. Analizētas divas personalitāti veidojošas asis: stresa reaktivitāte, rīcības stils. Rezultāti apstiprina individuāli noturīgas uzvedības variācijas suņu uzvedībā. Rezultāti uzrāda arī augstu atkārtojamību, kas apstiprina personalitāti kā indivīdu raksturojošu multidimensionālu parametru. Darba rezultāti parāda, ka personalitātes noteikšanā ir jāpēta kvalitatīvi un kvantitatīvi izvērtē…
