The Bishop-Phelps-Bollobás property for bilinear forms and polynomials

For a $\sigma$-finite measure $\mu$ and a Banach space $Y$ we study the Bishop-Phelps-Bollobás property (BPBP) for bilinear forms on $L_1(\mu)\times Y$, that is, a (continuous) bilinear form on $L_1(\mu)\times Y$ almost attaining its norm at $(f_0,y_0)$ can be approximated by bilinear forms attaining their norms at unit vectors close to $(f_0,y_0)$. In case that $Y$ is an Asplund space we characterize the Banach spaces $Y$ satisfying this property. We also exhibit some class of bilinear forms for which the BPBP does not hold, though the set of norm attaining bilinear forms in that class is dense.

This work deals with transport of radionuclides in the geosphere. The subject is investigated through characterisation of water conducting fractures, determining of rock transport properties and development of new methods for characterising geological samples. Here, as is often the case, radionuclide transport is investigated indirectly by characterising the structures, where the transport takes place, and directly by measuring transport properties in the gas phase. Application of time-dependent many-body perturbation theory to excitation spectra of selected finite model systems

In this thesis, an approximate method introduced to solve time-dependent many-body problems known as time-dependent many-body perturbation theory is studied. Many-body perturbation theory for interacting electrons and phonons is reviewed. In particular, the electron propagator G and an unconventional two-component phonon propagator, which satisfy coupled integral Dyson equations, are introduced. Tutkimuksessani selvitän, millainen kuva nuorten syrjäytymisestä rakentuu mediassa. Tutkimukseni aineistona on Helsingin Sanomissa vuonna 2012 julkaistut tekstit. Tutkimus pohjautuu sosiaaliseen konstruktionismiin ja aineisto analysoitiin diskurssianalyyttisesti. Sosiaalisen konstruktionismin mukaan sosiaalista todellisuutta tuotetaan erityisesti kielen kautta. Konstruktionistinen näkemys sosiaalisista ongelmista ohjaa kiinnittämään huomion niihin sosiaalisiin käytäntöihin ja prosesseihin, joissa tietyt ilmiöt määritetään ongelmiksi. Two species of freshwater Parastacidae (Cherax quadricarinatus and Cherax destructor) are used for breeding in several country and to date also in Italy in one aquaculture plant located near Catania (Sicily). Although they are Australian, they seem to have some of the peculiar properties that make it important, strategic and highly appreciated species for aquaculture facilities in Italy.
