Invasive crayfish increase habitat connectivity: a case study in a large boreal lake

Several studies have shown that distinct compartments of lake ecosystems are coupled via transportation of organic matter, nutrients and energy across habitat boundaries. Here we evaluate the potential of the invasive signal crayfish (Pacifastacus leniusculus (Dana)) to modify energy pathways in large boreal lakes. Using a stable isotope mixing model and calculation of the isotopic niches we estimated the contribution of different food sources to the diets of crayfish captured from different habitats, and from that inferred their potential to transport energy across the littoral-profundal gradient. Theoretical estimates of supernova-neutrino cross sections for the stable even-even lead isotopes: Charged-current reactions

A detailed study of the charged-current supernova electron neutrino and electron antineutrino scattering off the stable even-mass lead isotopes A = 204, 206, and 208 is reported in this work. The proton-neutron quasiparticle random-phase approximation (pnQRPA) is adopted to construct the nuclear final and initial states. Three different Skyrme interactions are tested for their isospin and spin-isospin properties and then applied to produce (anti)neutrino-nucleus scattering cross sections for (anti)neutrino energies below 80 MeV. Shapes and Collectivity in Neutron Deficient Even-Mass 188–198Pb Isotopes

The neutron deficient 188−198Pb isotopes have been studied in a Coulomb excitation measurement employing the Miniball spectrometer and radioactive beams from REX-ISOLDE, CERN. These isotopes are of particular importance as they lie in a transitional region, where the intruding structures, associated with different deformed shapes, come down in energy close to the spherical ground state. Theoretical study of supernova neutrino and antineutrino scattering off the stable cadmium and lead isotopes

In this thesis work, an extensive study of neutrino- and antineutrino-nucleus interactions is performed. The work is focused on supernova-neutrino scattering off the stable cadmium and lead isotopes. The studied nuclei are of interest for the investigations of neutrino-properties and for neutrino-detection experiments. The adopted nuclear-structure models are based on the quasiparticle random-phase approximation (QRPA) and the microscopic quasiparticle- phonon model (MQPM) and the cross-sections calculations are based on the Donnelly-Walecka formalism. La información actual sobre Cistus laevipes L., basiónimo de Fumana laevipes (L.) Spach, muestra que tal taxón no se encuentra tipificado. En el presente trabajo se designa como lectótipo el material original contenido en un pliego del herbario UPS-BURSER. The current information on basionyme of Fumana laevipes (L.) Spach, shows that this taxon is not typified. In this paper the original material enclosed in a herbarium sheet at UPS-BURSER is designated as lectotype.
