Radiological Outcomes of Bone-Level and Tissue-Level Dental Implants: Systematic Review

Purpose: to assess any differences on marginal bone loss between bone-level or tissue-level dental implants through a review of literature until September 2019. Materials and methods: MEDLINE, Embase and other database were searched by two independent authors. The search was limited to articles in English. Results: The search provided 1028 records and, after removing the duplicates through titles and abstracts screening, 45 full-text articles were assessed for eligibility. For qualitative analysis 20 articles were included, 17 articles of them for quantitative analysis. Stigma is common toward persons with mental health problems and can be defined as a label that sets a person apart from others, links her or him with undesirable characteristics and leads to avoidance by others in society. To aid in the planning of effective and well-targeted initiatives to reduce stigma I examined in my dissertation the prevalence of stigmatizing attitudes of a general population and the factors associated with stigmatizing of people with mental disorders in western Finland. Direct mass measurements on neutron-deficient xenon isotopes with the ISOLTRAP mass spectrometer

The masses of Xe isotopes with 124 A 114 have been measured using the ISOLTRAP spectrometer at the on-line mass separator ISOLDE/CERN. A mass resolving power of 500000 was chosen resulting in an accuracy of m 12 keV for all isotopes investigated. Bakalaura darba tēma – “Ķirurģijas aprūpes māsas pieredze darbā ar matu transplantācijas pacientiem”. Tēmas aktualitāti nosaka tas, ka cilvēki matu izkrišanai pievērš aizvien lielāku uzmanību gan Latvijā, gan citās valstīs. Latvijā šī procedūra ir salīdzinoši nesen. Ir iedzīvotāji, kas ir interesējušies par veidiem kā saglabāt matus, matu transplantācija ir galējais risinājums, kad nekas vairs nepalīdz. Ziepju pagatavošanas iespējas mājas apstākļos, to salīdzinājums ar aptiekās un veikalā nopērkamajām ziepēm

Pētījuma mērķis bija noskaidrot, cik viegli no attiecīgajām izejvielām mājas apstākļos var izgatavot ziepes. Ziepju izejvielas ir triglicerīdi jeb saliktie esteri un sārms. Tātad ziepju vārīšanas pamatā ir salikto esteru hidrolīze. Darbā ir apskatīta ziepju vēsture, ziepju sastāvs, piedevas, ziepju ietekme uz cilvēka ādu, kā arī ziepju piedāvājums Latvijā. Pielikumos ir pievienotas tabulas, kas palīdz saprast eļļas sastāvu un atvieglo ziepju izejvielu aprēķināšanu. Diemžēl mājas apstākļos neizdevās pagatavot ziepes, kuras būtu piemērotas ķermeņa higiēnas vajadzībā.

Antimicrobial peptides (AMPs) and lysozymes are the main effectors of the insect immune system, and they are involved in both local and systemic responses. Among local responses, midgut immune reaction plays an important role in fighting pathogens that reach the insect body through the oral route, as do many microorganisms used in pest control. Under this point of view, understanding how insects defend themselves locally during the first phases of infections caused by food-borne pathogens is important to further improve microbial control strategies. Parasitoids representing some 15 families of Hymenoptera develop in insect eggs; three of these families, Platygastridae (= Scelionidae), Mymaridae, and Encyrtidae, are associated with Heteroptera. Several species of heteropteran egg parasitoids are or may be important for biological pest control. Successful parasitism of insect herbivores by insect parasitoids arises through several phases of host searching, which lead female wasps to the vicinity of, or in contact with, their hosts.
