Joku kysäisee pian ”What about the Finnish Annals?”, johon vastataan yleisesti positiivisin ja myöntyvin myhäilyin. Kansainvälisesti lehti muistetaankin monilla lempinimillä osittain johtuen sen alkuperäisestä pitkästä nimestä ”Annales Academiæ Scientiarum Fennicæ Series A. I. Mathematica”. Exploring early adolescents’ evaluation of academic and commercial online resources related to health

This study assessed the ability of 426 students (ages 12–13) to critically evaluate two types of online locations on health issues: an academic resource and a commercial resource. The results indicated limited evaluation abilities, especially for the commercial resource, and only a small, partial association with prior stance and offline reading ability. Only about half (51.4%) of the students questioned the credibility of the commercial online resource and only about 19% of the students showed an ability to fully recognize commercial bias. Tutkielmassa tutkittiin laskenta-ammattilaisuuden stereotypioita Tilisanomat-lehdessä vuosina 2010—2015. Tutkimusaineistona on lehtiartikkelit, joten tutkimus on kvalitatiivinen. Huomioin tutkimuksessa myös kuvat ja mainokset, mutta pääpaino on artikkeleissa. Tutkimusmenetelmänä käytän sisällönanalyysia ja erityisesti luokittelua. Hyödynnän teoriasidonnaista sisällönanalyysia, eli aloitan luokittelun aineiston perusteella ja lopuksi tarkastelen löytyykö aineistosta pavunlaskijan ja muutosagentin stereotypioita, jotka on tunnistettu aiemmassa tutkimuksessa. Tässä tutkielmassa kartoitettiin laskenta-ammattilaisten stereotypioita rakentavia diskursseja, joita Talouselämä-lehdessä on käytetty 70- ja 80-luvuilla. Tutkimusmenetelmänä käytettiin diskurssianalyysia, ja analysoinnin kohteena olivat artikkelit, joissa viitattiin laskentatoimen parissa työskenteleviin henkilöihin. Huomiota kiinnitettiin myös stereotypioiden sukupuolittumiseen. Previous research on music and emotions has been able to pinpoint many structural features conveying emotions. Empirical research on vertical harmony’s emotional qualities, however, has been rare. The main studies in harmony and emotions usually concern the horizontal aspects of harmony, ignoring emotional qualities of chords as such. Purpose: To study the association of parents’ reports about their children’s near work and outdoor habits with myopia in their children. Methods: Data from a questionnaire study conducted in 1983 among Finnish schoolchildren were reanalyzed. Vision screening had been performed for all the schoolchildren (n = 4961) in the 1st, 5th, and 8th grades (7-, 11-, and 15-year-olds) in an area of Central Finland. Carbon Nitride-Based Catalysts for High Pressure CO2 Photoreduction

In the current research, the productivity of CO2 photoreduction has been boosted by performing the reaction in an innovative photocatalytic reactor, which allows for operation up to 20 bar. A set of photocatalysts were used, including three types of pristine TiO2, i.e., one commercially prepared (Evonik P25), one home-prepared by flame spray pyrolysis (FSP), and one obtained by the hydrolysis of TiCl4 (TiO2exCl), a bare thermo-exfoliated carbon nitride (C3N4-TE), and binary materials composed of TiO2 and C3N4-TE.
