How many longitudinal covariate measurements are needed for risk prediction?

Abstract Objective In epidemiologic follow-up studies, many key covariates, such as smoking, use of medication, blood pressure, and cholesterol, are time varying. Because of practical and financial limitations, time-varying covariates cannot be measured continuously, but only at certain prespecified time points. We study how the number of these longitudinal measurements can be chosen cost-efficiently by evaluating the usefulness of the measurements for risk prediction. The Reform of Vocational Education and Training in Finland: Insights from Twitter

This paper aims to analyse and describe relationships and communication in Twitter in relation to vocational education and training reform in Finland. Data were collected during the early implementation phase of the reform from January 2018 to early June 2018. The data included 2400 tweets containing the hashtag #amisreformi (VET reform). Social network analysis was utilised to study the network and communities. The main themes of the tweets were analysed using thematic analysis, and automated sentiment analysis was used to examine the tones of the tweets and public opinion. Kuopiossa toimi vuosina 1980-1986 uusekspressionistinen kuvataiteilijaryhmittymä, jolle annettiin mediassa nimitys Kuopion koulu. Väljän ryhmän ydinhenkilöitä olivat Markku Kolehmainen (s. 1951), Pentti Meklin (s. 1952), Pauno Pohjolainen (s. 1949) ja Teemu Saukkonen (s. 1954). In fish, the lipid resources of the female form a link between the environment and progeny, contributing to the contents of the egg yolk. Variation of the environmental conditions is therefore expected to affect the egg quality via maternal pathways, reflecting the female’s response to the environmental factors before spawning. We investigated the content of lipids and thyroid hormones in the ovary and eggs of the Baltic herring during 1988–2019, when salinity of the Baltic Sea first declined and then stabilized to a lower level, and winters varied between severe and mild.
