Introduction Pharmacokinetic interaction of high-dose methotrexate (MTX) and other concomitantly administered renally secreted medicinal products may lead to insufficient methotrexate serum level decrease and significant MTX toxicity. Case report We report the case of an 18-year-old male patient treated with high-dose MTX for an osteosarcoma and with high-dose piperacillin-tazobactam at the same time. MTX serum levels were severely elevated 24 hours after the MTX infusion and did not decrease in accordance with the specific calcium folinate rescue protocol. Stippled epiphyses in fetal alcohol syndrome.

We report on punctate epiphyseal calcifications (stippled epiphyses) in the fetal alcohol syndrome and present the differential diagnosis of chondrodysplasia punctata. A literature survey shows that epiphyseal calcifications accompanying alcoholic embryopathy are regularly located in the lower limbs and rarely found in the upper extremities.

Medialization of the center of rotation in reverse shoulder arthroplasty (RSA) results in greater excursion of the proximal humerus especially in adduction leading to a mechanical conflict against the neck of the scapula, thus creating a specific complication: scapular notching, in up to 90 % of RSA. We describe our third generation of RSA in Dijon, the Duocentric prosthesis. This prosthesis provides a new proposition to prevent the notching problem with an inferior overhang integrated to the glenoid baseplate. This paper proposes a novel actuation system for an offshore drilling application. It consists of three self-contained electro-hydraulic cylinders that can share and store regenerated energy. The energy saving potential of the proposed solution is analyzed through a multibody system simulation. Pētījuma mērķis bija veikt IPIP-50-BFM aptaujas adaptāciju latviešu valodā. Tika izvirzīti pētījuma jautājumi par IPIP-50-BFM aptaujas latviešu versijas atbilstību aptaujas oriģinālajiem psihometriskajiem rādītājiem: iekšējai saskaņotībai, pantu reakcijas un diskriminācijas indeksiem un konstrukta (konverģentās) validitātes kritērijiem. Pētījumā piedalījās 204 respondenti (132 sievietes un 72 vīrieši) vecumā no 18 līdz 76 gadiem (M=37,66, SD=12,40). Dati no respondentiem tika ievākti gan frontāli, gan arī interneta vidē.
