BACKGROUND The key to success of any root canal therapy is adequate obturation of the prepared root canal space. Root canal sealers are not dimensionally stable and might dissolve partially over a period of time. The objective of this in vitro study is to evaluate the push-out bond strength to intraradicular dentin of two endodontic obturation materials. Evaluation of a hash-compress-encrypt pipeline for storage system applications

Great efforts are made to store data in a secure, reliable, and authentic way in large storage systems. Specialized, system specific clients help to achieve these goals. Nevertheless, often standard tools for hashing, compressing, and encrypting data are arranged in transparent pipelines. We analyze the potential of Unix shell pipelines with several high-speed and high-compression algorithms that can be used to achieve data security, reduction, and authenticity. Furthermore, we compare the pipelines of standard tools against a house made pipeline implemented in C++ and show that there is great potential for performance improvement.

Modeling of Friction Losses in Offshore Knuckle Boom Crane Winch System

This paper presents a method for friction modeling in a hydraulically actuated multi motor winch system of an offshore knuckle boom crane. The method is based on a combination of a model of the variable displacement axial piston motor based on measurements from the sub supplier, and combined with a model of the remaining friction loss obtained from measurements on the full system.

The effect of vesamicol on the ability of recycling cholinergic synaptic vesicles to recover, during a period of post-stimulation rest, the biophysical properties of the reserve pool was studied in prestimulated perfused blocks of the electric organ of the electric ray, Torpedo marmorata, a tissue rich in cholinergic synapses. The effect of the drug was analysed by high-resolution centrifugal density-gradient fractionation in a zonal rotor of the extracted vesicles. The two vesicle fractions were identified by their ATP and acetylcholine content and the recycled vesicles by their acquisition of [3H]acetylcholine derived from [3H]acetate in the perfusate. The chosen face detection method is the well-known convolutional face finder (CFF) algorithm, which consists in a pipeline of convolutions and subsampling operations. The Wood Sandpiper,Tringa glareola, is a regular wintering species in Italy. We revised wintering status of Wood Sandpiper analysing 75 sightings (99 individuals) from December 2001 until January 2019. Data were collected from direct monitoring in Latium and Sicily and integrated by bibliography and national/regional data base. The species is regularly wintering with an estimate population of 1-9 individuals per year (mean value 1.32 individuals/sighting; DS=0.71). Tringa glareola was recorded in 40 sites, 20 Provinces and 10 Regions. Preferred wintering places are in Latium, Sicily and Sardinia. Utilised sites during last wintering seasons are increasing.
