Intercomparison between MRI and stereovision/PIV measurements for diagnosis of aorta pathologies

International audience; The objective of the study is to validate the ability of magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) to perform measurements of deformations and internal flow of an aortic phantom with aneurysm. An in-vitro measurement experimental device to simulate blood flow was developed. It was tested within MRI and within stereovision and particle image velocimetry (PIV) devices. The measurement results are well correlated and can be used to establish a preoperative diagnosis based on computed parietal stresses with a finite element model (FEM).

Placement of postextraction dental implants has become a common practice. Here, we reviewed current literature, along with clinical procedures, outcomes, and incidence of complications, associated with immediate implants in infected postextraction sites. The YSGG (yttrium, scandium, gallium, and garnet) laser can significantly reduce the bacterial concentration after extracting a compromised tooth. We treated a 40-year-old woman with a compromised tooth in the esthetic zone, presenting clinical and radiological signs of infection, particularly a periapical periodontitis. Aims To examine the effects of bupivacaine on erythrocytes submitted to an oxidative stress (AAPH) and to provide evidence for an in vitro interaction between bupivacaine and flumazenil. Methods Human erythrocytes were studied with or without AAPH in the presence of different concentrations of bupivacaine (0.15, 0.3, 0.9 and 1.8 mmol l−1 ), or flumazenil (0.16 mmol l−1 ) and with the association of flumazenil and two doses of bupivacaine (0.15 and 0.3 mmol l−1 ). ICTV Virus Taxonomy Profile: Polycipiviridae

Polycipiviridae is a family of picorna-like viruses with non-segmented, linear, positive-sense RNA genomes of approximately 10–12 kb. Unusually for viruses within the order Picornavirales, their genomes are polycistronic, with four (or more) consecutive 5′-proximal open reading frames (ORFs) encoding structural (and possibly other) proteins and a long 3′ ORF encoding the replication polyprotein. Members of species within the family have all been detected in ants or via arthropod transcriptomic datasets. Lokāla anestētiķa darbības ilguma izvērtēšana, atkarībā no devas pleca nervu pinuma blokā

Pleca nervu pinuma bloks ir efektīva metode, kas ļauj novērst pēcoperācijas sāpes, diskomforta sajūtu un stresu. Daudzās anesteziologu vadlīnijās eksistē konkrēta medikamenta deva, ar kuru varētu veikt sekmīgu pleca pinuma bloku un nodrošināt pēcoperācijas analgēziju jeb “rekomendēta maksimāla deva”. Maksimālās devas pielietošana, palielina nevēlamo toksicitātes reakciju attīstības risku. Darba mērķis ir atrast minimālu efektīvu ropivakaīna devu, kas nodrošinās sekmīgu bloku.Pētījumā tika iekļauti 25 pacienti kas tika randomizēti sadalīti piecās grupās, kur katrai grupai bija sava 0,375% ropivakaīna deva.Analgēzijas ilgums katrā grupā ir atšķirīgs: 5 mililitru grupā 5 ± 3.54 stundas( p 0.1)…
