Pastāv daudz veidi kā cilvēki, kuri mācās svešvalodu var apgūt jaunu vārdu krājumu. Viens no tiem ir skatīt piemērus kā vārdi tiek izmantoti kontekstā, starp cilvēkiem, kuriem konkrētā valoda ir dzimtā. Angļu valodas monolingvālās mācību vārdnīcas iekļauj daudz šādus piemērus, padarot tās par vienu no labākajiem avotiem. Piedāvātais mācību tēmas “Plecģērba šūšana” risinājums ir aktuāls mūsdienās, kad lielāka uzmanība tiek pievērsta kultūras mantojuma saglabāšanai un starpkultūru saskarsmei. Darbā tiek apskatīti 10 kultūru tradicionālie tērpi. Skolniecēm tika dota iespēja apgūt tradicionālā savienošanu ar mūsdienīgo. Darbā ir izpētīti normatīvie dokumenti, plecģērba šūšanas tehnoloģijas, mācību metodes un mācību tematiskā plāna aprobācija. Mācību uzdevuma ietvaros tika veicināta skolēnu cieņa pret kultūras mantojumu un spēja to novērtēt, attīstīta radošā domāšana un pieeja. Darbā ir 4 nodaļas, 9 apakšnodaļas, 19 tabulas, 3 attēli, 6 pielikumi.

Effects of responsible human resource management practices on female employees’ turnover intentions

This study focuses on the effects of socially responsible human resource management (SR-HRM) practices on female employees’ turnover intentions and the moderating effect of supervisor gender on this relationship. With a sample of 212 female employees from eight different industries in Finland, the results indicate that SR-HRM practices promoting equal career opportunities and work–family integration play a significant role in reducing women's turnover intentions. The study adds to the academic discourse of corporate social responsibility by highlighting the impact of the organizational-level HRM determinants on the individual-level outcome. Early Career Women in Academia: An Exploration of Networking Perceptions

This chapter explores women’s networking perceptions by focusing on early career women in social sciences. Within an exploratory research design it asks how early career women define the early career stage in academia, what definitions, meanings and interpretations they give for networks and networking, how they construct the networking process and their ability to establish and/or join networks, as early career researchers and as women. Metal-nanoparticle-G4-DNA conjugates and their DC conductivity measurements

Due to superior self-assembly properties, DNA is a very promising candidate for the basis of future bottom-up solutions for molecular electronics and therefore the conductivity of DNA is a very crucial question. In this work DC conductivity measurements on conjugates consisting of G-quadruplex DNA and metal nanoparticles were carried out. The fabrication and results obtained from the electrical measurements of three types of conjugates (20nm G4-AgNP chains, 20nm G4-AuNP flowers and 60nm G4-AuNPs) are reported. Starting from a presentation of the phenomenon of intimate partner violence and of its various possible forms, this paper presents an overview of the most recent theoretical contributions on the topic, the dynamics of abuse in the couple and the main psychodynamic aspects that explain the possible manifestations and peculiarities of the effects of violence, both from the point of view of the abuser and the victim. Affective Arousal During Blaming in Couple Therapy: Combining Analyses of Verbal Discourse and Physiological Responses in Two Case Studies

Blaming one’s partner is common in couple therapy and such moral comment often evokes affective arousal. How people attune to each other as whole embodied beings is a current focus of interest in psychotherapy research. This study contributes to the literature by looking at attunement during critical moments in therapy interaction. Responses to blaming in verbal dialogue and at the level of the autonomic nervous system (ANS) were investigated in two couple therapy cases with a client couple and two therapists. Narratives by women managers about spousal support for their careers

In this article we present a qualitative study of spousal support for the careers of women managers. The research material consists of the narratives of 25 women managers in Finland. The study has two main implications. Firstly, unlike previous studies, we use a narrative approach to demonstrate that a woman manager's career and spousal support are experienced as ambiguous and evolving over the career. The support was constructed by the women managers as flourishing, irrelevant, deficient or inconsistent.
