A note on Sylow permutable subgroups of infinite groups

Abstract A subgroup A of a periodic group G is said to be Sylow permutable, or S-permutable, subgroup of G if A P = P A for all Sylow subgroups P of G. The aim of this paper is to establish the local nilpotency of the section A G / Core G ( A ) for an S-permutable subgroup A of a locally finite group G.

[EN] Finite groups G for which for every subgroup H and for all primes q dividing the index |G:H| there exists a subgroup K of G such that H is contained in K and |K:H|=q are called Y-groups. Groups in which subnormal subgroups permute with all Sylow subgroups are called PST-groups. In this paper a local version of the Y-property leading to a local characterisation of Y-groups, from which the classical characterisation emerges, is introduced. The relationship between PST-groups and Y-groups is also analysed.

We have studied experimentally and theoretically the rectifying properties of a single asymmetric nanopore functionalized with amphoteric lysine groups and characterized the net current obtained with zero-average time dependent potentials. Bakalaura darba tēma ir “Pacientu aprūpes izvērtējums pēc pleca locītavas endoprotezēšanas un rotatoru manžetes operācijas.” Šīs tēmas izvēlei par pamatu kļuva autores darba vieta un operācijas pēc kurām māsām ir jāveic aprūpe. Abas operācijas ir plaša apjoma, augšējās ekstremitātes, sāpīgas un pacientu aprūpe pēcoperācijas periodā aizņem noteiktu laiku un prasa lielu uzmanību un precizitāti. Kā arī pēdējo desmit gadu laikā ļoti strauji izauga pieprasījums pēc šīm operācijām. Darba mērķis ir izvērtēt pacientu aprūpi pēc pleca locītavas endoprotezēšanas un rotatoru manžetes operācijas. Multiple sclerosis (MS) is a chronic inflammatory disease with demyelination of the central nervous system. High-dosage corticosteroids are the first-line therapy in the acute relapsing of MS. We report a case of severe high-dose methylprednisolone-induced acute hepatitis in a patient with a new diagnosis of MS. A 16-year-old girl was admitted for urticaria, angioedema, nausea and vomiting a month later she had been diagnosed with MS and treated with high-dosage methylprednisolone. Laboratory investigations showed hepatic insufficiency with grossly elevated liver enzymes. A liver biopsy showed focal centrilobular hepatocyte necrosis with interface hepatitis. Testing the nature of the Λ(1520)-resonance in proton-induced production

The $\Lambda(1520)$ resonance has been recently studied in a unitarized coupled channel formalism with $\pi\Sigma(1385)$, $K\Xi(1530)$, $\bar{K}N$ and $\pi\Sigma$ as constituents blocks. We provide a theoretical study of the predictions of this model in physical observables of the $pp\to pK^+K^-p$ and $pp\to pK^+\pi^0\pi^0\Lambda$ reactions. In particular, we show that the ratio between the $\pi^0\pi^0\Lambda$ and $K^-p$ mass distributions can provide valuable information on the ratio of the couplings of the $\Lambda(1520)$ resonance to $\pi\Sigma(1385)$ and $\bar{K}N$ that the theory predicts. The combustion of black liquor (BL) in a recovery boiler is a central process in a kraft pulp mill for recovering the cooking chemicals and for producing heat and power. This work explored the most important combustion behavior of BL, the swelling of in-flight droplets, from the viewpoint of liquor composition. It also studied the combustion behavior of BL droplets obtained from two biorefining subprocesses (carbonation and hot-water pretreatment, HWP) and sulfur-free pulping alternatives (soda-anthraquinone (AQ) and oxygen-alkali pulping). Dabisko ganību apsaimniekošanā kompleksās palienes ainavās ļoti nozīmīgi ir mitruma apstākļi – palu dinamika un sausuma periodi, jo tie dabiskajos zālājos atšķirībā no kultivētajiem zālājiem var ievērojami ietekmēt barības vielu apriti, augu izdzīvošanas spēju, ražību un šo faktoru saistību ar ganību apsaimniekošanas praksi, tāpēc maģistra darbā tika izanalizēta mitruma apstākļu (nokrišņu, palu un sausuma periodu) ietekme uz ganāmpulka, ganību apsaimniekošanu un ganību ražību ilgtermiņā – 17 gadu periodā.
