Relationship between Multimorbidity and Quality of Life in a Primary Care Setting: The Mediating Role of Dyspnea

Multimorbidity is known to impair Quality of Life (QoL) in patients in a primary setting. Poor QoL is associated with higher dyspnea perception. How multimorbidity and dyspnea perception are related to QoL needs clarification. The aim of the present study is to evaluate the mediating role of dyspnea perception in the relationship between multimorbidity and QoL in adults with and without airflow obstruction in a primary care setting. Exploring fast proton transfer events associated with lateral proton diffusion on the surface of membranes

Proton diffusion (PD) across biological membranes is a fundamental process in many biological systems, and much experimental and theoretical effort has been employed for deciphering it. Here, we report on a spectroscopic probe, which can be tightly tethered to the membrane, for following fast (nanosecond) proton transfer events on the surface of membranes. Our probe is composed of a photoacid that serves as our light-induced proton source for the initiation of the PD process. Maģistra darba mērķis ir izpētīt galvenās Latvijas PSR rūpniecības attīstības iezīmes pēckara gados, balstoties uz būvmateriālu ražošanas nozares piemēru un galveno uzmanību pievēršot šīs nozares darbības svarīgākajiem rādītājiem. Darba ietvaros, balstoties uz arhīva materiāliem, tika apzināta Latvijas PSR tautsaimniecības struktūra un tās atjaunošanas procesi no Otrā pasaules kara beigām līdz 1953. gadam, šim mērķim padziļināti izpētot vienu no tās svarīgākajam nozarēm – būvmateriālu rūpniecību, īpašu uzmanību pievēršot ražošanas procesam, ražotajai produkcijai un galvenajiem darbības rādītājiem. Abstract: This article investigates the use of repeating panels in relation to speculative fiction storytelling in graphic novels Watchmen and From Hell , written by Alan Moore and illustrated by Dave Gibbons and Eddie Campbell, respectively. Presenting the same panel several times over the course of the narrative is an expressive medium-specific narrative technique available only to comics. In the discussed graphic novels, panel repetition is used to represent the superhuman cognitions of the quantum powered superhero Dr. Manhattan, as well as the magical experiences of Sir William Gull, the homicidal madman behind the brutal Jack the Ripper murders in Victorian London.
