Wołczyn to miasto leżące w województwie opolskim na Nizinie Śląskiej, w obrębie Monokliny Przedsudeckiej. Na terenie tym występuje ujęcie mineralnej solanki termalnej „Wołczyn VII A”, która kwalifikuje się do wykorzystania w profilaktyce i lecznictwie. Ze względu na brak w regionie ośrodków balneologicznych, istnieje zapotrzebowanie na rozwój tego typu form wykorzystania tworzyw balneologicznych. Zastosowanie solanek z Wołczyna w celach profilaktyczno-leczniczych, rekreacyjnych jak również jako tężnie, stwarza perspektywy nowej strategii w polityce zdrowotnej Śląska Opolskiego.

Photomosaic is a technique which transforms an input image into a rectangular grid of thumbnail images preserving the overall appearance. The typical photomosaic algorithm searches from a large database of images one picture that approximates a block of pixels in the main image. Since the quality of the output depends on the size of the database, it turns out that the bottleneck in each photomosaic algorithm is the searching process. In this paper we present a technique to speed-up this critical phase using the Antipole Tree Data Structure. This improvement allows the use of larger databases without requiring much longer processing time.

The article contains a semantic and formal analysis of a selected group of phraseological compounds (collected 150 units) recorded in Silesian dialects and talking about the human age. The collected phraseologies creating a thematic field of generał importance AGE AND STAGES OF HUMAN LIFE are divided and characterized within five sub-fields: Childhood, Early youth, Maturity, The process of growing old / Senility and Death. The phraseology of the discussed field is characterized by big imagination, negative evaluation, strong expressive features, multi meaning and semantic biur.

The third instar larva and puparium of Gastrops willistoni Cresson (Diptera: Ephydridae), preying on eggs in a foam nest of Leptodactylus knudseni Heyer (Anura: Leptodactylidae), in a central Amazonian dryland forest (Brazil) are described for the first time. The fusiform larva has a short breathing tube, its anterior spiracles are fan-shaped and posterior spiracles with three spircular openings. Pupa is ovoid with a broad anterior margin and bifurcate posterior tip. The taxonomic relationship of the frog egg predators, Gastrops Williston and Typopsilopa Cresson, are discussed.

International audience; Plus d'un millier de restes animaux ont été recueillis dans vingt-deux inhumations, dix-sept crémations et six sépultures au rite indéterminé. Deux espèces se distinguent par leur fréquence, le porc et la volaille. Le bœuf et les caprinés sont moins fréquents, alors que le cheval, le chien, l'oie et l'ours sont rares. La plupart des porcs sont très jeunes, avec notamment des sujets périnataux. Ils sont souvent déposés sous forme d'épaules, de jambons ou de séries de côtes. The non-Gaussian distribution of galaxies gravitational fields

We perform a theoretical analysis of the observational dependence between angular momentum of the galaxy clusters and their mass (richness), based on the method introduced in our previous paper. For that we obtain the distribution function of astronomical objects (like galaxies and/or smooth halos of different kinds) gravitational fields due to their tidal interaction. Within the statistical method of Chandrasekhar we are able to show that the distribution function is determined by the form of interaction between objects and for multipole (tidal) interaction it is never Gaussian. Optical and electrical properties of oriented thin films of oligomer containing betaine-type moiety in side chain

Non-linear optical and electrical properties of polymer films obtained by dipole orientation of active units are reported. Novel polar oligomer with N-(indan-1,3-dion-2-yl)pyridinium betaine (IPB) as a side group is studied. Orientation of polar groups in oligomer thin films causes an increase of the photo-induced change of surface potential on irradiation in the region of photo-induced electron transfer (PIET) where the IPB group exhibits a reversible change of the value and sign of the dipole moment. At longer wavelengths, the value of the surface potential of the oligomer may be determined by transport of photogenerated charge carriers.

In this paper, the response of different synthetic models to geoelectrical multi-electrode surveys is studied. The models considered are related to two main problems, which are very common in geophysical research regarding hydrogeology and engineering. The first class of models represents buried walls, similar archaeological remains or remains of buried foundations; the other class corresponds to a sea-water intrusion of a fresh water aquifer, which is generally studied in hydrogeophysics. Carabus scheidleri scheidleri is a very rare, legally protected in Poland species of ground beetle, occurring on single localities mainly in southern part of the country. The Authors present new data about occurrence of this species on the Bolko Island, one of the most valuable nature areas in town of Opole. General distribution of this species in Poland, commentson its systematic position and discussion about establishing protected area on the Bolko Island are also provided.
