The impact of non-dipolar magnetic fields in core-collapse supernovae

The magnetic field is believed to play an important role in at least some core-collapse supernovae if its magnitude reaches $10^{15}\,\rm{G}$, which is a typical value for a magnetar. In the presence of fast rotation, such a strong magnetic field can drive powerful jet-like explosions if it has the large-scale coherence of a dipole. The topology of the magnetic field is, however, probably much more complex with strong multipolar and small-scale components and the consequences for the explosion are so far unclear. The Arctic tadpole shrimp Lepidurus arcticus has a circumpolar distribution and the Scandes (Fennoscandian Mountains) marks its southernmost limit in Europe. Līdz šim veiktajos, publiski pieejamos pētījumos secināts, ka lielā zīlīte Parus major labprātāk izvēlas ligzdot lapu koku nevis skujkoku audzēs. Tikmēr melnā mušķērāja Ficedula hypoleuca sastopamība atkarīga no mākslīgo ligzdvietu izvietojuma daudzuma. Pamatojoties uz šo informāciju, tika izvirzīts pieņēmums, ka lielās zīlītes ligzdvietas izvēlē būtiska ietekme ir apkārt esošajai veģetācijai, bet melnā mušķērāja izvēlē – mākslīgo ligzdvietu skaitam. Par darba mērķi tika uzstādīts noskaidrot lielās zīlītes un melnā mušķērāja ligzdošanas vietu izvēli noteicošos faktorus mežos ar mākslīgajām ligzdvietām. Pētījuma veikšanai izvēlēti divi pētījuma apvidi, kuros izvietotas mākslīgās ligzdvietas.…

The acts of arbitration courts, operating in Opole district since 1835, constitute an interesting source for the research of Silesian everyday village life in the nineteenth and twentieth century. The author, after having presented a short outline of the institution and its legal functioning, concentrates on specific cases lodged to peacemakers. The everyday life situations in the protocols present the interpersonal conflicts, usually concerning unimportant things, not being included in the criminal case catalogue. Województwo opolskie zostało dotknięte powodzią nazywaną również ,,powodzią tysiąclecia” w 1997 r., lecz wielu mieszkańców pamięta te dotkliwe zdarzenia. Z pewnością od tego czasu wyciągnięto wiele wniosków i dokonano zmian w procedurach, niemniej jednak nawet najlepsza organizacja wymaga współpracy ludności cywilnej w momencie wystąpienia zagrożenia. Bez wiedzy mieszkańców na temat sposobów reagowania na poszczególne zagrożenia, nie można mówić o dobrym przygotowaniu.
